look two posts above dude
The 5in, Full HD display looked bright, colourful and very sharp, with none of the film effect we spotted on the Xperia Z. Sony's Triluminos technology certainly makes an impact when looking at photos or watching video, but it also gives the Android home screen plenty of punch. Viewing angles are superb too, with minimal light reflections from what we could see on the show floor.

No, I didn't order any of them. The blood slide collection looks nice imho.
At first I'll finish season 8 on sunday, I don't really like it to be honest...
I'm a real fan of the first seasons!

^i was talking bout the blood sample one.
back on topic:
looks like with the retail units making their rounds, more and more positive screen reviews are showing up. hopefully it will make those who are thinking of importing from abroad, feel a little better about it.

The only strange thing so far is that the 16:9 camera setting is at 8MP - why?
Also the most used setting in the app drawer only show you 20 Apps. |

the 16.9 setting still uses all the pixels of the 20mp sensor which is why it could actually have better results if the process software is properly set up |

rphilippe - you sure? according to the manual, there is also an 8mp 3:4 mode in addition to the 16:9 mode. but like Geoffxx said.. the 16:9 mode samples the 20mp down to 8mp, which is supposed to give better results than straight 8mp..

Interesting reviews. Some reviews have a Z1 that has the best display on the market and some have a Z1 that has the same display as the Z.
In my opinion it is obvious that my source was right about the display lottery. Most of the low quality displays will be used for C6902. People getting the C6903, C9643 or the C6906 will most likely end up with an excellent display. |

make sense since c6902 is cheaper than the rest by quite a bit |

ok, but my question is different.
first of all the "shatter proof" or better announced "shatter resistance" is only when the film is on the Z1. second, i asked: "is a filmless Z1 more sensitive then a filmless iphone 4/4s?"
answer only someone who knows for sure.

Well, "is a filmless Z1 more sensitive then a filmless iphone 4/4s?":
If the phone falls exactly on the same spot on the ground and in the exact same direction (both is very unlikely in real life) then the shatter proof foil would not make any noticeable difference. If your screen cracks at a certain drop, your screen protector wouldn't make any difference.
Maybe the difference could be measured, it is a piece of plastic, it absorbs an amount of energy (very very little).
A clear answer to your question: Yes!
But that's only due to the way larger screen size. It has nothing to do with the existence of a screen protector.
A 5" piece of glass will break easier than 3,5"

Interesting to finally see some measurements of the screen. However.. How can one site measure 1500+:1 CR and this russian site measure 260:1.. I mean, either someones measurements are off, or theres a larger problem abroad. I would love to get a clear word, if not.. having to wait for the 06 may not be such a horrible thing.. |
