I won't be taking my Arc out of the house till I have at least a screen protector put on it. I'm too frightened about the screen getting even slightly scratched, and also any kind of damage to the housing.

Does anyone know if there are any decent cases/pouches available for the Arc already??

i have seen gel-cases allready (been using my x10 without screenprotector in a leather pouch, no scratches, but i treat my phone like a gf

edit: Correction, if i treated it like a gf my x10 would have been worn out by know...

So they said about the X10 to... I guess it has the same mineral glass. I've had my satio in a leather belt-pouch and it accually doesnt have a single scratch... But the rest of the device really sucks...

Nice.
Question:
How is it with video playback on Android/Arc?
Do I have to encode videos somehow before playing them on the phone?

@doministry: You dont have to reencode most of the videos, thanks to an app called RockPlayer, it plays .mp4, .mkv, .avi, .mpg and .wmv files with no problems...

In my X10, the only videos that lag using Rockplayer are HD Videos, especially .MKV's....

This was the main reason i bought my X10, since I wanted to watch videos directly, without having to reencode them.

Hope it helps...

If HD lags then what is the point? ^^
Hopefully the new API's in 2.3 can help getting better videoplayers

Gum Mobile are now showing as in stock for both the Xperia Arc & Xperia Play so I think it's safe to assume most UK online retailers will start posting out today.
