On the phone today I was told it could be next week but O2 were hesitant to confirm or commit.

Btw to avoid national call rates try either the 0800 number, or dial 100 from your phone. This is free and I think upgrades is option 2. I also use the 100 number for billing enquiries. |

Thanks for the advice but what is the 0800 number?
I did try the 100 but it recognised I was an online customer and asked me to redial using 0870.........
cheers

O2 didn't call me back, so decided to ring and say i was cancelling. I said 3 offered me 500 xnet mins and 500 txts for £20/month (i know i could have said 15, but I didn't want to push it). He came back saying I could have the same but with 200 txts because i never use all of the 100 I am receiving now (which i thought about and had to agree with).
I then asked for a W800i with it. He repeatedly tried to blag me off with a K700i instead, saying they were practically the same. So I said i'd rather not downgrade from my S700i. He eventually accepted, but with an upgrade fee of £50. Edit: got to wait til mid sept. for stock on the W800i
Summary: 500xnet mins, 200 txts, £20 month
W800i, £50
Sure beats my 100 mins and txts for £25. Thanks guys.

O2 are really easy to talk around. I tried similar trick with Carphonewarehouse and was told that they wont do it. They will give me a K750i free if I upgrade my tariff to £30 a month and that was it so I told them where to go and am going to get my PAC code in the next couple of days. |

O2 gave me my PAC code over the phone yesterday - try calling if you'd rather not wait.
Muddytrousers - How long did you leave it before you called O2 back?

I just rang Carphone warehouse and the best they could offer me was £90 cashback which equates to half price line rental for 6 months ie bringing it down to £15 a month, but they couldnt match the 500 xnet mins, but they could do the 400 text. Grrrrr. I told them that was crap and asked for my Pac code - they said they would issue the forms and I'd have them shortly. ...Tut. |

Hi all,
WOW!!
I cannot believe how this tread has grown (it was my first ever thread!), I've not been on for a bit and nearly fell off my chair when I saw how many posts had been put on here!
@muddytrousers - Just read back a couple of pages.....believe it or not the people who rang you claiming they were O2 were actually 3 Network - They have been reported to Watch Dog!!
Anyhow, I have still not seen a better deal than £10 per month with 500 xnet anytime and 500 text per month with a free K750i (only out a couple of weeks when I got it). However, what I have seen is loads of people getting great deals which is great.
It was Chief Wiggum that first advised on this thread of the 3 deal scam so we have a lot to thank him for.
I wonder if we combined all our new contracts how much money we have saved, I bet it would run into the thousands!!!!
All the best

I also wonder if an employee from O2 has stumbled across this discussion and if so what they think of it.....?

Hi,
I just rang o2 - Im currently on 02 online offpeak 300 spending about £30-£40 a month. I said 3g had offered me 400 texts and 500 mins for £20 and vodafone a similar but lesser deal, he said they could offer me that for £25 and I get a free Samsung E350. I asked about K750 and he said that would be £70, I took his name and extention and said I would ring him back. Anyone have an ideas how to get a better offer on my handset? i.e. do 3g offer k750s etc I would really like the nokia 8800 but they want silly money for that, you help would be greatly appreciated as i need to ring back soon. thanks |

@bulti48
I don't think O2 would be too pleased, although they have to be suspicious of getting so many phone calls from people quoting the same deal don't they?
Also I left it about 10 days before ringing O2. |

Aaaah,
However, look at it this way. The more calls they get about the 'made up' package, the more genuine it seems!?!
Anyone out there who works for O2 who has seen this thread???

I just called CPW O2 customer services and asked for my PAC code because I have seen a good deal on a W800i (didnt tell them what the deal was) and the woman told me that they will do me a W800i for free with £45 cash back after 4 months on my current tariff (O2 25 @ £16.99 a month).
What a deal! I took them up on the offer straight away. That adds upto £159 over the year (made sure it is a 12 month contract) for a handset that normally sells for arount £370, less than half price!
The phone is going to be with me on tuesday and is supposed to be unbranded!
Also got double minutes and texts for the first 3 months.
