Hi again. Is some one using the mobilink gprs or not. If some one using it then please soon tell us about its connectivity ,quality and every thing. Also about the agile and the opera browser use and can we configure it with pc. I am using warid gprs for two three days and i think they are over charging for data also. If some one else also using it then please correct me if i am wrong. Gprs on warid is turning into a nightmare this time. Regards. Umer

Ok. But hope they give it for jazz also soon as i have jazz and this offer is some limited time offer i think. So if i get indigo and they end the offer then it will be so disappointing. What about configure with pc can we configure it with pc or not. I do not want to buy indigo because other wise my mom will see to whom and whom i am making calls. Lol. Regards. Umer

Hi all GUYS,
TELENOR FREE SMS OFFER will come to an end on 31 MAY 2005, now I think that WARID should give this free SMS offer from now on for the upcoming month so all TELENOR users who have got habit of using too much SMS will at once jump to WARID, bcz there call rates are also very good. And also one more important thing is that when we load Rs.100 in TELENOR they deduct 10 rupees as TAX but in the case of WARID they don't deduct any TAX the 100 rupees remain 100 and the tax is deducted while making calls and still cheaper than telenor I think its best as for as call rates are concerned.
A call is compared as making an OFF NET CALL per minute:

----------Amount load---Amount deducted-----Peak----Off peak
TELENOR---Rs.100--------nearly Rs.10---------3.99------3.99
WARID-----Rs.100--------zero rupees----------3.00------2.75
------------Tax------Total peak---Off peak-----Overall cost
TELENOR----0.60------4.59--------4.59----------4.59
WARID------0.80------3.80--------3.55----------nearly 3.65
------------------------------------------------off peak 3.35

Telenor off net and on net SMS 1.5+tax (after 31 may)
Warid on net .50 & off net 1 +tax (1.27) still cheaper

Moreover the telenor charges the same within network the same but Warid rates are very low within network upto Rs.1+tax, so call rates wise warid is best it has also coverage in all important cities.And Yaar TELENOR is having some problems with GPRS and MMS and I have too much signals problems here in Islamabad in my area I have already changed two sets.Today I got a message several times network busy from telenor. I have also one problem with warid I can't register to thier web site. when I enter my mobile number on screen then instead of code I get an SMS "message cannot be opened" written inside. anyone please guide me.

@Umer hayat , it seems man you are krazy about GPRS but thats also somewhat your problem because u told that u had no net facility at your hostel. But I don't care about GPRS and I will not activate in Warid Because I have already wasted too much @Telenor GPRS moreover I have free unlimited internet connection at home with free unlimited local calls so I need no GPRS any more.Net can be used more easily and effectively on PC as compared to mobile. I sometimes think that how u manage to write so long messages on Mobile?
Good man u are running forum very well, u r well informed person.

@radar blip , WELCOME once again u are back after a long time, I m new to this forum, I found this through searching and thats the first time I m taking intrest in any forum and making posts and regular visits. WELCOME once again.

@umerhayat

Hey buddy its nice to hear your suggestions but don't judge one company on its GPRS service. I appreciate your willingness to seek differences between the network operators but you should understand that GPRS is hardly used by anyone. Only the educated class uses it and you know what the literacy rate in Pakistan is. Anyway, very few people use SMS too so what matters the most is the voice call itself. Right now we know who provides the best rates....hats off to Warid. I hope the rest don't follow cause if they do a price war will begin, and no one wants that to happen. So once again Warid is the ultimate winner in my case. What do others have to say?

@Bilal. Man one of the best ,detailed and informative post i ever read. TELENOR gprs is having problem since that fibre optic thing. When i try to connect it the G appears and keep on blinking and status is connecting and it never connects. Also here in fsd telenor gprs always disconnect exact at 12 at night and usually at 6pm also. Also other random disconnect are also seen. So telenor gprs is fast but unreliable when say you want to connect agile messenger for hours and hours.Since 3 days the warid gprs is slow but very very stable and so reliable. But i again say much expensive. So that leave us again with the uFONE gprs as they say old is gold. i am much crazy about gprs as its the only option i have in hostel.

Talking about stability of gprs, i would give full marks to ufone. I leave my phone connected for 7, 8 hours and not a single time in the whole last one year it has auto disconnected.

@Umer Hayat
Thanks for appreciation.
Yaar at least your G is appearing on screen but here in Islamabad even G is not appearing on screen.And Its intresting to note that I got different answers from helpline each time when I call. For some days Telenor signals are just going down and down in our area and my call drops twice today and thrice yesterday.But now I will permanently switch to Warid even Warid signals are half in our area @ Islamabad but its sound quality if far more better than Telenor.

@ms sheikh
Yes Guy, You are very very right the main thing for judgement of the company is its quality and its voice call rates.GPRS is used only by educated peoples and I have even faced such people who even not know what is SMS? And internet is almost at every one exposal and WAP is a little time consuming and not as comfortable & cheap as net on PC.So from call rates and SMS point of view WARID is the best. But I have three problems with WARID

(1) Firstly WARID is blocking its information from USERS by restricting them to visit thier site. www.waridtel.com
(2) Secondly,I cannot register my Warid number on the site instead I get the Message "message cannot be displayed" instead of password as SMS.
(3) Thirdly I m getting half signals of Warid in my area thats why I m delaying although its working fine but sometimes create problem.

Would you please forward my problems.

@Radar. Yes man you are right the ufone gprs little slow but very very stable. On telenor if you stay idle for some time they dc you. I mean if i connect and browse and then i stop browsing then after some time i do not know exactly how much but may be half and hour they dc you automatically. Its bad because it again cost you the re connect and every thing. But the warid gprs is proving it self also very stable and very expensive also Lol. @ bilal. Here also for 2 days no G thing was blinking but for last two days its blinking. But blink is of no use we need it to get connect Lol. And yes the help line people are for fun only if you want to talk to some girl free of charges then you can call them at day time for fun. Other wise they know noting about the net work problems. Lol. I think better they brief them daily about problem then they can give us some answers. Regards. Umer

@Bilal. Man seems that fibre optic is not fixed yet and ptcl workers are gone on strike or what ever. Because the telenor gprs is not working still for me. Is it working for you or not. When ever when it works for you also inform me about it. Because i am now fed up of changing sim again and again. One time or some times two times a day.

@bilal It is always nice to receive customer feedback on every product. The first thing you pointed out regarding the sms being sent on your handset has already been addressed and they must be working on it. Secondly, the website issue is also of some importance. I think they have adopted such a marketing strategy so as to allow customers to explore the true potential of the company and basically give the general public the idea and motive behind the company. The message is the same whereas the medium of communication is different. But obviously since you have brought this up I am also getting curious and I would certainly let you know once I find out the answer. Finally, the signal problem is no doubt a very common problem amongst all operators. However, I'd like to know your exact location and where the problem occurred so I can forward it to them. Thanks for your time and determination. Good luck with everything

Hi ALL Guys,
All telenor users, I have found another number 555 may be you know it already. It is also like a help line number with much clearer sound. It allows you to hear your balance as WARID and change your language for all assistanace which is set to URDU by default e.g when ur Balance is below 20 etc etc.
Now, I have compared a little the prices of TELENOR and WARID. When you load 100 rupees balance in your Mobile and u make a call to any other network then :
Off net Offnet
--------------Amount Loaded-------Talk Time----------SMS------
WARID-----------100-----------------26----------------78-------
TELENOR---------100-----------------19----------------57-------

This shows Telenor is expensive than WARID.

Hi SALAM Umer & Ms shiekh,

@UMER
Telenor GPRS not working today. If PTCL has some problem then why other's GPRS is working.

@MS Shiek
I live in Islamabad E-9 SECTOR at the Foot of MARGALLA Hills.
There the signals are very weak and sometimes disappear.
I want to use WARID but its having that problem.
You can contact me for more details.

Secondly, I finally get registered on their Web Site but the SMS they were sending contain the password but It was unreadable on
NOKIA 7210 ,NOKIA 2100 and finally I was able to read it on
NOKIA 2300,NOKIA 2600. Why is this incompatibility exists? although they signed agreement with NOKIA that all products will be compatible with NOKIA. THANKS TO ALL.
