At last se is doing something. Cool phone, I want one. By the way, se is launching z800 in singapore soon, and I think k600 will follow suit shortly after that. |

Holy Crap! This is a damn nice looking phone. The back is quite good aswell.
I really like the minimalist look of this handset - very clean, very elegant. A refreshing change from the weird squiggly phones Nokia have been pimping lately. |

@ Gigs. I have to say I agree with you. Is it really surprising there is no expandable memory slot in a phone the size of a T610 but with 3G!!!
I mean just how much can you fit into a package that size? You can see the size difference between this and the Z1010!!! It's almost half the size.
C'mon guys, give them credit. What proportion of space would a memory slot and its support take out of this tiny package. Sheesh!!!
There is a usb port!! They have done really well to fit that in in my opinion and if this is to have mass appeal, then the average person in the street would not know what an expandable memory slot is. |

But it does have 32 mb more memory than the T610

Exactly. 37mb is enough. It is not meant to challenge the iPod, or replace the S700i.
Oooh, I can't wait to see what else they are going to surprise us with at CeBit. |

This is really a great phone but I think the 37MB and no expansion option will easily be pissing a lot of users soon, considering that this has a 1.3MP camera. Just remember people's comments on the K700i with only VGA cam and 41MB memory. It would have been great if this one has a larger memory IMO considering that we can easily transfer large files through USB.
resistance is futile. |

I see your point though - 1.3 megapixel photos are a lot larger than VGA photos, and therefore will take up more memory.
But again, i suspect more phones later this year, i wouldnt worry!

Edit: Bollocks, just read a translation of this page confirming it's not metal: |

Yes I agree, I was hoping to see some metal to. But this picture clearly indicates plastic, look top/left inside the back panel |

@davo, there are people who don't need external memory support. This is for them.

If you check out thedoc's video link on page 9, you will be pleased to hear from the phone's designer that the front panel of the phone is most definitely metal... |

whatever it is ...SE sucess to make a 3G phone with the size of a 2G device. If you look at all the 3G product announced by other manufacturer yesterday, no body manage to match the size K600 achieve.
Like T610 or T600....it set another major milestone in mobile phone...although it have its short coming |

From an asthetic point of view, the k600 has a clean and crisp form. The back of the phone is very minimalistic looks suprisingly futuristic. Clearly Sony have dictated the desing on this handset as it seems very 'Sony-ish' to me. The only (potential) problem I see is that should this phone have plastic covers, then it'd be very dissapointing (from a designers POV). As good as a phone looks, if it doesnt have tactile pleasure then it kind of defeats the purpose of having good design (imagine, say an Apple G5 wasn't housed in that sexy, smooth see-thru perspex thingy but rather crappy bumpy biege plastic).
From a technical point of view, this seems like the kind of phone many people have been waiting for to use on the 3G platform, small but perfectly functional. But the 37MB of memory (as stated on SE's website) seems very very low to me.
Oh well...so far, it looks slick. |

I don't see why every new phone has to have MSD. If People manage their files there should not be a problem. Otherwise, the Z800 should be for them.
I think this phone is gonna be MASSIVE.
It is ideal for Q2 release, just in time for my birthday so guess who's gonna be dropping some heavy hints around that time . (I will end up buying it for myself anyway, probably)
I am expecting this to be around £250 - £280, which is cool for me.
I also think the back of this is cool. I like the way the photo - light lens is flush with the side of the phone. Nice touch.
@ Thullan. From the pictures the phone looks Metal to me, brushed Aluminium panels with plastic underneath - the same method as in the T610.
There is no way this will have plastic casing.
