OK, I don't know whether it's true or not. It's just a suggestion by someone on the forum, but it makes sense.
The zoom is gradual/progressive like in the S700i. You can see the zoom thing in the bottom left corner. That implies either digital zoom, or possibly even optical zoom.
But like I said, I'm waiting for confirmation, and even better a picture. |

I thought that scale would indicate the amount of recording time left. but if you are right then this would be quite an advance
Optical zoom on a cam-phone this small would almost be a miracle because I thought manufactures were only toying with the idea at the moment. |

The scale indicates the zoom on the S700i too, to make it look more like a digital camera. |

As I said in MR, and I think Memzee may have read this, if I'm right but I'm not 100% sure, I think this or another close to it is SE's answer to Samsung S2300.
Question, are there any pics of the back.
Answer - so far no...
That doesn't mean I am right, that just means nothing.
I'll let you lot figure it out

You could always have a folded optical system, like that of the Sony DSC-T1/11/3. That would be easier to accomplish if the lens were not behind the screen but opposite the keypad, with the optical tunnel running up the camera. Note that in the video-clip photo, the camera is held with the earpiece on the left and the right side facing up.

I know perfectly well, which pictures you were talking about; I didn't misread your post at all. The point I was making was that you seem to have an overly negative attitude, in keeping with the mob mentality that seems to appear when this sort of thread is created.
If you don't think the pictures are real, or if you think they are badly designed, etc that is perfectly fine. However, there is no need for such negativity in the way you put your point across.
@all
If the specifications of this handset are indeed correct then I agree that it should be a huge success. The crucial feature for me though, is the battery life. I really do hope SE have listened to us and done something about improving battery life. Nice features aren't of much use if the handset won't turn on!

As long as there are small phones with large screens there will be these battery life issues. It is the limitation of the technology rather than the companies inability to implement it.
