An argument that does not follow from its premises.

I tried to contact the Taleban but apparently they're in hiding. Seems they're out of favour. They don't know where ago Laden is; they think he might be in a cave somewhere counting all the money the CIA gave him over the years...

Ah those hazy days of the late 70s when Russia decided to invade Afghanistan so America helped the taliban by supplying them with guns and surface-to-air missiles as well as allowing them to avast money for there cause by turning a blind eye to the drugs trade

When will the US learn their lesson and stop getting involved in foreign politics? "Stupid Americans."

It's not easy being big brother - being the most powerful nation in the world includes duties such as military action and control of foreign nations. We've seen that throughout history.

Democracy is about people controlling their own lives, as, as a nation, they see fit. That means that sometimes people choose to live in ways we might not agree with. That is their RIGHT. They are protected by international law in this. NO external government has a right to interfere with this process.

Yeah, but every person on this planet has (or should have) the right to share his opinion. If people want to feel sad because of Bush's re-election, who are you to stop them?

I am so sick of hearing this "we've got an obligation" bullshit. If you think we, as Americans, have an obligation to help every country that has gotten itself into trouble, why don't you pitch in and help them yourself. I don't give a damn if some random country gets itself into some shit.
On the other hand, if someone asks a government for their help, that is a different story. Then I don't see a problem with giving some assistance.
EDIT: That doesn;t even apply here anyway... Show me where Iraqis asked Bush to get involved with Saddam Hussein. They didn't. It si as simple as that. Bush wanted control of the Iraqi government because that meant more oil for him and the Saudis. Period. (Don't even mention Haliburton... That situation is even more f*cked up.)

This is going away from the election into Iraqi war which is discussed in other threads.
By the way, Iraq is not some random nation. It sits on the largest untouched oil reserves in the world.
