Unfortunately, that is additional software that you have to pay $24.95 for (http://www.pocketmac.net/products/gobetween/index.html) so its not quite as simple as using Address Book.

Also, have a look at the user reviews at VersionTracker. They're not that favourable. So I stand by my original comment that Entourage can't sync as smoothly as Address Book.

Thanks for your feedback guys - Unfortunately I am with Vodafone and they, for some reason known only to themselves, have disabled the use of MP3s as ringtones.
So back to my question - does anyone know how to change an MP3 file into a MIDI file? (on mac OS)
Also, I will check out "GoBetween" if I can find it.
Thanks

The link for "GoBetween" is in my previous post, above!

I'm not aware of any programs for the Mac that convert MP3/WAV to MIDI. I've heard there are some for the PC but they do a pretty terrible job...

@Jools

I do not mind paying for software. I do not believe in using warez or cracks or anything as such. It is hard enough for software houses to stay in biz without someone illegally using their software. As for GoBetween, I have not had any of the problems that people are talking about, and my syncs work out quite well. I do think that MS has a few problems with Entourage but I am sure that they will work this out. In the end, it is to each his or her own.

I don't mind paying for software either. I'm a paid user of PhoneAgent, Salling Clicker & GSM Remote for my phone alone. Nowhere have I suggested that anyone should use software illegally, so don't imply such things about me.

If you read my post carefully, all I said was that paying for, installing and configuring additional software is not as simple as using what comes as standard with your Mac, especially after reading some of the reviews on VT.

I'm glad that GoBetween works for you, however not everyone has been so lucky. I like people to have as much information as possible about a product before deciding to purchase, especially when a demo version is not available.

@JoolsG3,

Did not mean to imply that and if anyone got that impression, I can say categorically that you have done nothing but try to help get things working here. Infact, I used your suggestions to get my K700i to finally work with iSync. I was thinking that maybe the users who are having problems with GoBetween are not using it properly. Also, there is an upgrade to the original version that might address the issues mentioned on V-tracker.

Cheers,

Don

Why would you want to make your own midi files when you can download millions for free on the internet?

Try for instance http://www.musicrobot.com .
But there are many many more websites.

Good luck.

Ps I could be wrong but I think the voda branding K700 does allow the use of .wav as a ringtone.
Just be sure it's 16Khz or below.
You can use many programs to convert .mp3 to .wav, search www.versiontracker.com .

Pps As far as I've read, Voda blocked the mp3 function, because SE doesn't offer a DRM function on the phone.
(Don't know why it's possible to listen to mp3 though...)

Hello,
I want to have some new system fonts on my P900 (eg helvetica).
First time I tried it, I sent chalkboard to my phone with BT.
That was no problem, it worked perfect.

Next I wanted helvetica, which I only have as a dfont, so I used dfontifier to convert it to True Type.
I tried to send it to my P900, without succes; it just doesn't arrive without any error message.
Then I tried to copy it to my MS Duo using my card reader.
But when I put the MS Duo back in my phone there were two files;
._helvetica.ttf and helvetica.ttf.
Normally the first one is o bytes (I just delete it) and the second is the file I need.
This time the first one was 216 Kbytes and the second 0 bytes.
Both files didn't work..

Then I tried another font, this time again a True Type, not a dfont (verdena).
Same story as with Helvetica; couldn't get it to work!!

I'm I the only one with this problem?
Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

I've never really had any problems connect either my p900 or k700 to my Al powerbook 10.3.4. I must say the k700 works a lot better with the mac though. The great thing is I did not even need any software, after pairing the two together I have isync, addressbook filebroswer, etc working a treat and with the use of Salling Clicker aswell - it's a match made in heaven......

For anyone who's missed the news elsewhere, there's a Java application for creating K700 themes on Mac OS X available now.

Here's the link: http://myforum.lasyk.net/forumdisplay.php?f=68

You have to be registered on that forum to download the file.

Just to let people know (if you don't already) after you've downloaded the new 10.3.5 update its recommended that you repair you computer and K700i. The reason for his is that there is a new option to check that lets you use the HID function.

Ive tested this and it works pretty well

iSync 1.5 is finally out. Get it from your Software Update or here.

And the K700 is now officially supported. Just downloading now, so will try it as soon as possible.
