scorchio and morten ...this is a forum for the discussion of sony ericsson products and this thread for users on the island of ireland (and it's archipeligo) who enjoy using those products.

no one gives a toss whether you are right or wrong and i imagine no one will give a toss if you leave this forum.

if you have anything informative or interesting to say about SE products then please stay ......if not ...chifidh me tu.

i just saw the preview of the k700 in the carfone warehouse magazine. it's there with five other phones, and says that all of the phones on these pages are due for release before end of july.

in the same magazine, the t630 is now on o2 paymonthly, and the p900 is on vodafone pay monthly.

i think things are looking up in Ireland for sonyericsson.

Ok, I know I said that i wasnt going to post anymore comments on this thread but I'm going to anyway

Dont believe a word of what any CPW magazine says. The current edition claims not only that the k700 will be avail by july but that the new nokia 6230 will be avail this month. One word comes to mind... B*****ks!!!!
CPW do this every month. They tell you a new model will be avail "next month" to get you to return to the shop. They then try to sell you something else.

In a nut shell

k700 at least 7 mths
nokia 6230 same
S700 next year.

Our neworks are really gonna have to get the finger out and start approving phones in realistic time scales.
The car in front is absolutely unique apart from the one behind it which is exactly the same. Murray Walker

As someone from the north I've found that meteor suits my needs best as i am down at weekends and can make dirt cheap calls home. From what i believe O2 and Vodafone are ripping off the Irish consumer. Not only do they need to get the finger out and start approving phones, meteor and 3 need to expand their coverage and provide real compitition for these two!

I wouldn't expect the K700 to be out until christmas, and even then it will probably only be on pay monthly.
Best way to get it is probably on Orange UK (unless you can pay for it sim free). They have reduced the T610 to £129 on their website which might suggest they are making room for the K700, and there were rumours of a june launch for it on orange.

For all those who remember a bit of history how about "SonyEricsson will fight, and SonyEricsson will be right..." "a nefarious nokia conspiracy..." :-)

Just on to the good people in Vodafone and

"the Ericsson K700 is not available and will not be launched"
"We have no plans to launch the Sony Ericsson T630."

So if you want a new SE phone in Ireland it looks like you will have to try O2 or get it SIM free
