Its been quite a long news already that the 888 is another heater. So Sony did their best to cool down the Xperia 1III. Its in the news that only 895+ then they change the manufacturing back to TSMC .

That said, Sony should NOT, not ever, be sending a phone for testing to a leading youtube influencer like MKBHD with piss-poor software/bugs that could be easily noticed. Yes the Xperia name has been around for a while now, but it's the numbering scheme that Sony has been prodded about.
e.g. WF-1000XM4 or WH-1000XM4s - cannot tell you how many times youtube video content creators or print or forum posts people always mix these up, just like the XM3's. The internet comments of Sony having bad names for products is because Sony has a HUGE spread of headphones and smartphones over the years.
It's not as easy has thinking Apple or Samsung to make cellphones with names like:
iPhone, iPhone Pro, iPhone Max - for every year. aka "iPhone 12 Pro Max - 2021"
Galaxy S, S Pro, S Ultra - 2021
You cannot do that with over 14 headphones or 25 in-ear headphones ... BUT if Sony came up with a category system:
X - ultimate top tier
S - supreme mid top tier
L - average main stream pricing/quality tier
no prefix/suffix for low end product lineup and then come up with names for each. Names with great significance. Then just list them based on year for support/sales etc purposes.
Still I'll always love Sony.
So how do you know whether his phone was a bad build and not that his team had tempered with the phone for all we know (or not know)

Also Sony long ago had this naming scheme and abbreviations in place only its difficult to remember, but not xperia mobile naming system which I think its great just like alpha camera.

Funny facts:
These youtubers complain about xperia name, but are fine with Alpha camera names that use same system. They also say the correct WB is dull, but use same formthe footage they record with sony cameras. How is this possible?

He told me that at least SONY Taiwan is not aware of any change in OS update, meaning 2 updates for flagship, and 1 for mid range.
He also mentioned that except that it's impossible that they already have specific update plan for new xperia at this point.

Quarter report does not have amount of phones sold. Just revenue lower than april-june/2020. No surprise because Europe got 1ii in june, still nothing now.

My friend is testing and has major reservations about the SD888, he says it frequently overheats and throttles the hell out of games. Also, he says the battery life is near identical to the 5ii despite have a bigger battery so that could be optimisation issues. I have a 5ii and he's basically recommending that to any SD888 phone. |
