That's pretty good going for Sony. Other regions can't be far behind.

what does this have to do with xperia 1m2?

Great news if true, but i'm not sure I believe it. that's a 1 month turn around time from announcement to release. in the past, when they say spring, they mean sometime in may. given that there are no pre-orders up anywhere yet and no real hands on videos from anybody, i'm skeptical.

hope sony proves me wrong! and if it is available in HK late march, then I hope other regions follow in early april.

Do they ship worldwide? What about the warranty?

There is international shipping, but as far as I know, only Apple has international warranty.

they do: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/[....]/International.jsp#whereWeShip

no international warranty. it would be a US warranty.

Taxes, Fees, and Duties would be charged according to their policy and your country as described here:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/[....]/International.jsp#dutiesTaxes

You can read more about their international policies on their site. Note this is an American retailer in NYC. It's more likely that a european retailer will get the xperia 1m2 before american ones do.

speak of the devil:

https://www.clove.co.uk/products/sony-xperia-1-ii

pre-registration only, just like B&H

I just hope the Xperia 1 m2 doesn't turn up like the S20U.. Too much hype, all for nothing... The S20U might be a good phone, but because of the hype that had been created, both by Samsung and the tech sites, they are receiving a lot of backlash.. Redundant 100x zoom, faulty auto focus (for a phone worth 1400 bucks), bland design, not so great 108 mp camera etc etc.. Don't want Xperia 1 m2 to end up like that.. Please just be a normal good phone.. Like the S20..

I don't see too many "marketing gimmics" on the Xperia 1 m2. The upgrades compared to Xperia 1 seems to focus on real improvements (better and larger main 12 MP sensor, 3X optical zoom, focusing system, 3½mm jack, larger battery, better finger print scanner etc.). I just hope the camera software will be real smooth and fast. I think it will be, as I just updated to latest firmware on Xperia 1, and the camera software seems to work more reliably and faster now. New Pro Photo app for Xperia 1 M2 looks awesome. Hope it comes to Xperia 1 as well.

Focus issues are software problems.
Now some people trying to justify, say it is because HM1 uses Phase Detection instead of Dual Pixel.

Someone on article from gsma said the 8K of mi 10 is just upscale.
Now I even suspect same from Samsung.
The bitrate is too low for 8K, it is similar to what you would get from 4K90.

1 II got an article from magazine GQ in France.
More popular than I thought i would be.

Well this video for the mi 10 says 6k upscaled, but in the video itself he says its 105 mbps or so, which is good enough for 8k even though the video is not 8k.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQuG8QiWJEA

The S20 8k is capped at 24fps as well and I am sure samung is using a lower bitrate to save on memory, 80mbps is not close to 100mbps but from this article below, seems like 80mbps is the minimum for 8k

https://www.thebroadcastbridg[....]ntry/9251/are-you-ready-for-8k

This vital bandwidth reduction is a key 8K enabler. HEVC can compress a broadcast-quality 8Kp60 4:2:2 10-bit video at bitrates between 80 and 150 Mbps from its original uncompressed 40Gbps.

At this point in time 8k is useless for the consumer, proper optimized 4k video what companies should be focusing on, ie recording for extended period of times and EIS.

Gsmarena has new audio test.
Results of 1 and 5 are different.
1 did better than Samsung and Apple.

Someone posted on reddit that heard from a friend that work for an online seller that in UK the pre-order gift may be WF-1000X III or WF-H800.
