Same sensor as Z3. No changes.
S-Master HX will be present on Z4 but don't expect Walkman grade audio quality. It will be similar to "BIONZ" on Xperia.  |

The problem has never been with sensor. It's because of a cheap lens and too much post processing. All other manufacturers use the same Sony sensor, even Samsung in their latest note. |

Nice to know nonetheless. btw, do you know something about z4 display size and resolution? is sony really going with 5.2" fhd for international variants and 5.5" qhd for us variants? |

I'm sad if sony doesn't up their game. They need something to make them money and give the Sony brand some meaning once again. Their reputation has been tarnished over the years and I really want to see them bounce back! However, they cannot do that without releasing a beast of a machine. One that pushes the boundaries on innovation and sets THE standard for quality. That is why i fell in love with sony in the past. It is why they used to be successful. I hope they retrace those steps with their future devices because I don't know what I'd do if Sony stopped making phones.
Hoping to keep my Z1 for a couple more years.. come on Sony.. tempt me to upgrade sooner.

The Z3 Compact has impressed me a lot, so much so that I doubt I'll be upgrading when the next series of phones arrive, not unless it's something really impressive.
But right now Xperia phones seem to be evolving at such as steady pace it's hard to envisage something coming along that will be a huge leap from where Xperia phones are now. I hope they prove me wrong but I think they're being pretty conservative.
I agree with moogoo, they need to release a beast that will become their hero phone but a beast in what respect no-one knows.

Hopefully it won't be the case in the end but right now I have to say that Sony looks less and less interesting.
After Z3 that was nothing more than refined Z2 we all expect Z4 to be something more. Maybe at least UI will get major redesign and functionality upgrade. My sister has Ascend P7 with newest EMUI 3.0 and I have to say that compared to it Sony with it's newest UI found on Z3 is lacking on every front.
Sorry to say it but if they don't do anything to their software package, no hardware upgrade will save them. |

Phonearena is wrong. New note4 use exynos5433 which is same as old note4 but with new modem shannon333.

Does it run EMUI 2.3 or 3.0 - it's a difference. Previous version wasn't that great but the newest version is a massive leap forward.
I for one like the advanced options available for user straight out of the box and some options that aren't available on any other devices. |
