I haven't gone trough all the posts here, but the SonyEricsson T68 you were watching is exactly the same T68 as the ones you have in your pockets. It will be shipped with the MMS Software, but apart from that and the blue leds it's just the same phone as our T68 phones! |

Merkur > I can follow You in this, and I agree with you
But still, I cant see the point in this "new model" ?
Especially if they intend to release it now.
It would be like suicide, as written ealier.
T68M sells really well, and is very popular, and its only 3-4 months old.
Assuming that they are exactly the same, the only reason then for releasing a new model, would be that Sony wants their nametag (and design) on the phone.
The only thing I'm trying to "figure out" is "WHY".
BART wrote, that the i-model had more memory, and the same software as our T-68 once upgraded to mms.
Funny thing though,..it was said earlier, that the T-68 would never have the Sonyericsson nametag,..hmmm.

Well. They can't be the same, Ericsson can't be that stupid. It'll bee financially suicide. But, consider Ericsson-company reading in this forum too. I think we've given them a lot of tips.
If the T68i is exactly the same as T68. And the T68 will be the same as the T68i, when the upgrade is finished; the T68 needs more memory to contain e.q. all the background images.
Anyway. Who did say that the T68i comes with more memory and for all we now, the T68 we have now, have enough memory for the upgrade later. |

Well... I have a REALLY good source. The "T68i" is no different from the phones we currently use apart from Blue leds and the MMS software installed. I'm not shure when this one will hit the shops tough. And I know that I personally prefer the old version. The thingy on above the speaker will probably be one of the landmarks of a SonyEricsson mobile phone. Do you notice that the phone has no label on the bottom?
The only difference between the is the looks.
Now the reason for this is actually the fact that SonyEricsson need to have a phone with their own brandname on it.
SonyEricsson is a special company. It's not more related to Sony than it is to Ericsson.
I believe this change is needed to prepare the T68 for the competition that is building up. Also this is done to have a phone with the brand SonyEricsson on it.
Sad news: The R520 is out of production. The T39 is too

I like the T68m , design looks better. And I aslo like the "gummi" back, it is very practial, if you put the phone on desk or if you hold it in your hand it really hold.

and ours should will be the limited edition because a year from now every one will have the mass marketed new one and ours will be special
my own opinion
p.s. i`ve had ericsson for years and dont want my last memory of them as the company that shafted me |

With this deal that Sony-Ericsson have just signed with Sun Microsystems and Quicktime(Mac) for a new standard of streaming media how long will it be before we can see or send movie clips on our phones? Just as an aside. |

I think that the T68i is actually a prudent move on SonyEricssons part. They want the success of the T68 not to be solely attributed to Ericsson. From a business perspective it is the right thing to do, the SonyEricsson brand will be well regarded before a ‘true’ SonyEricsson’s is actually released.
It takes sometime to design and mass produce phones, I really do believe that the only differences (apart from the obvious firmware changes) are cosmetic, infact I’m willing to put money on it.
I don’t see what all the fuss is about.
