Some beautiful pics in this thread. well done to all.

I wonder if the members of esato could put together a user guide for basic/enhanced picture taking. Ive scoured the net for such a thing, but have never found one. I'd love to be able to get the very best quality out of my omnia hd..

@bono,

the detail in the pics, from corner to corner, is remarkable. Better than my old n82, and that was truly a great device.

I got the Elm today, the Pure Silver version. It looks ace in silver i think. I think the camera is really good outdoors obviously. Indoors in artificial light i think it is sort of not "deep" enough when it comes to the green; also it doesn't give enough depth to the red colour and the blue is a bit too contrast in some pictures (i took quite a lot i might post some more later). Still, the quality indoors is satisfactory i think. I am replacing my k810 with the Elm and outdoors i think the image quality is ace, indoors i think most of the pictures i took i would choose the elm over the k810 but not in all cases bcos in some cases i would wonder whether i prefer more noise (the k810) or less noise but also less accurate colours in low light (the elm) (at least from what i have tested up to now)
One thing that is 100% sure is that the video recording on the elm is much much better than the k810. in fact i rarely used the recording on the k810 cos it was quite bad.
All in all i really like this phone, if they had put xenon flash it was going to be a masterpiece in my opinion. But as someone said earlier (and i agree), that would kill the c905.
One thing i wonder is - is there a way to pause a music track while it's playing in the background without having to go in the actual music player (like you could on the k810 by just pressing a hardware button on the upper right side of the phone for pausing)? If you can tell me a way around this i would appreciate it

i am too impressed on the camera quality of that toy! too good for a LED flash!

it reminds me of mrjulius' C902...

i had c901 last month which i gave to my sister. for a replacement, i got Kita (a.k.a. Yari) stuffed with 16gb mSd which am using for 2 weeks till today. later am planning to sell my Kita and get Elm (but i will keep my 16gb mSD)

The pics here have shown that Elm is like c901 without the Xenon flash. It is a good decision for SE to compensate the absence of Xenon by giving Elm a bigger aperture at f/2.6. With the flash turned off, the bigger aperture of Elm will work better in low light scenes as compared to those camphones with f/2.8 (like the 5mp cream of the crops: c901, nokia 6700 classic, samsung s7220). One thing more, the bigger aperture of Elm will record brighter videos in low light conditions as compared to those with f/2.8.

my only concern: 5mp elm pics are sized averagely 600-1mb. c901 pics are sized 1-1.5mb in average..
seems like elm pics are compressed more aggressively as compared to c901's. hope future sw update will change that..

not 600-1mb...elm pictures start from 150kb!!!(twilight landscape shot i've taken)to 1650kb(thats the limit).someday i release a modded camdriver on Elm,it can be fixed.
