@Dups!
Ah, I got it. I think it'll take them a few more months to make profit again, but who knows

Honestly, domipost, I don't need a huge profit from them in Q2, a break even result or even a 1 percent profit is enough for me.
I think Q2 is reasonable in my book. They have restructured for long enough and it is time for results to show. A Q4 loss is not much of a concern but if it is big, say, it is only a 10, 20 or even 30 percent drop from the previous loss then I'd be slightly concerned. I am hoping for them to be closer to break even in this quarter's results.
Too optimistic? Maybe, but it's time they start improving.

 Q4 / complete 2009 results.
There will still be some losses in this report. X2 delayed, pulls from provider retail chains of the Satio & Aino will affect the results. The costs/expenses should drop significantly though.
I think its time SE trades publicly and soon.

Wouldn't Sony and Ericsson have to relinquish their ownership (or some of it) for Sony Ericsson to be traded publicly? Are there 50-50 joint ventures that are publicly traded?

The financial reports are bound to be crap so what I would suggest is that you wait for MWC. Satio and Aino have not helped and X2 was never expected to match the success of the XM 5800 for example. If you find that the phones are not up to standard since every company will be bringing their big guns, make your decision then. The line up is decent, there are some phones that I cannot comment on (I have never seen them) but I am certain that we will see at least one new Xperia. There are a couple of other undercover phones as well, unfortunately some cancellations as well but certain design aspects could live on. From the competitors, I would expect a new Omnia HD, the hotly tipped Nokia 12MP, the Androids of HTC to be among the best.
Anyway, all eyes are on Kurara to be slick. It has a fair amount of eye candy and is much better than Satio in many ways. Hopefully no delays and also, I hope it has the sound quality of Aino or better because that could really make it great. I suspect that it could be a bit pricey though. Also, there should be at the very least, one high end phone from which is currently unknown to us. It won't be WM, doubt it will be 'A3' so maybe Symbian or Android. The Satio replacement will be announced later on in the year so it has to be something else. Nobody has mentioned Entertainment Unlimited in a while, Kurara should be one. More information would be nice. |

So, CES is almost here. Is SE going to announce something there?

Last year, SE announced at least the W508 and the C510 at CES, two mid range phones. In 2008, they also announced some new phones, so I'm guessing they'll announce at least something this year as well, but they might keep the high end under wraps for MWC. |

What about the new Symbian Foundation OS? Does SE have any upcoming phones running on this? I know Satio was supposed to use SF but ended up using S60....
