i seriously doubt the G900 will have a 8GB internal mem and still cost around 320 EUR... That would mean instant death for the W960 and SE surely won't ruin that.
I'm betting more on a 1GB M2 in the retail package (i don't think they'll bundle a large mem stick than that, SE saves it for Walkman branded phones). |

The press conference, the guy repeated several times that Xperia is a brand not to be linked to a single operating system!
That means that na Xperia UIQ is on the making...

The G700 and G900 are considered as mid-range models by Sony Ericsson. |

Indeed the first mid-range UIQ phones to appear, hence the new index.

@Razec
I seriously doubt that you will find the OMAP chip in these devcies and the reason they are missing HSDPA is i am willing to bet they are still using the now ancient Nexperia chip that doesn't support it, god only knows just how many of those blooming chips SE still has but surely they must run out of them soon. IMO the sooner the better as they are holding back what could be much better devices.
If SE can put HSDPA in non smart phones it makes no sense not to put them in a devcie that really deserves them a smart phone, and any one that thinks HSDPA is not a relative factor in a smart phone is quite simply not living in the real world.
@Bart
You really need to wake to the fact that smart phones are no longer the preserve of the business user more Multimedia smart phones are sold then business smart phones and this trend will continue to increase. Even SE have realised this and hence these G series devcies. So whether you think the N series is smart phone or not quite simply you are wrong but only by your definition of what a smart phone should be times have changed stop living in the past. Just look at how many millions of N series Multimedia smart phones sell compared to E Series Buisness smart phones and Symbian is the dominant smart phone platform by quite a long way.

An update about the G-series:
- Memory. I missunderstood last time I spoke to . Both G700 and G900 have 160MB internal memory. Expandable up to 8GB (as seen in the whitepaper). Maybe 16GB when this is available, but it these are teste on the device yet.
- No accelerometer or gesture control. Display orientation controlled by user input
- CPU: EMP (Ericsson Mobile Platform), ARM 9.
- TFT display: Yes
- Price: Not announced. Could not confirm the price mentioned on other websites.
- WiFi: 802.11b and 802.11g
- Possible to install applications like TomTom etc.

I wish SE had included EDGE on the G900. My country has no 3g networks, so it would have been good to have it.
Also glad that it doesn't have 8gb memory built-in; it would only have made the phone more expensive. |

That's before all the service providers stuff being installed though.
@Not Me
Some fantastic photos their thanks. But is it just me or does the G700 appear smaller then the G900? On the SE website it states they are the same size and weight?
