I bought my P1i recently so I haven't really gotten used to it yet but I can definitely see the difference in overall speed of the phone especially the camera. I guess in some ways it's good that I am still learning the phone because to me there would be less bugs then what other people were already aware of.

Before upgrading my fw my led always cut off when i touched a key or the wheel regardless of key lock, its been like that ever since i bought my P1i . I dont think we can say the new firm ware did this. Put to prevent future arguments, is there any one who has not upgraded who is still running older FW versions who can confirm???

Hi Guys,

When I unplug my P1i from charging it automatically ends one application (0kb). I don't even know what application it is.

Anybody have this bug?

I have the old firmware R9h004, and the LED does stop blinking once any key is pressed...

I just updated and so far I'd say it does seem faster overall - nothing earth shattering (going to a new SMS from the standby screen still flashes through various bits of the messaging app first but seems slightly faster)

Also, my green tint does appear less - I didnt take a pre update shot for comparison but pointing at a couple of white things it was hardly noticeable. More testing required tho', as I think the white balance may affect things. The camera seems quicker overall, but I may have found a bug - can anyone confirm?

Using the "4" key in the camera app should switch between focus modes, but it doesn't work any more. Well, it does, but if I hit "4" nothing happens- if I then hit "#" to remove the UI and again to bring it back, it *then* changes focus mode?!

What's the memory leak like now, has it been completely eradicated yet?

Great...now tell me that even the red LED for low battery stops flashing when you press something and I won't be surprised...Jeez what were they thinking, scroll wheel is easily moved...

Relax The low battery red flashing light will not go off apart from recharging the P1i AFAIK

- the green light for messages etc seems to be exactly as it was - so NOT a bug in the new firmware - maybe a suggestion for improvement in a new update!

about that flashing green light, that's not a bug...! it was the same before and I don't see any problems with that? if u have it in you pocket, u probably don't go checking on led if is flashing or not, u check the screen for messages and missed calls... (btw, that is fixed now, because keylock message is not shown, u can now see missed calls right away and don't need to wait for keylock message to go away.) I only look on flashing led if I have my phone on the table or somewhere else, so I don't need to pick it up and check the screen...
I really like new fw, it has many fixes and phone is much faster. About that #4 key issue in camera I can only say, that it's not so bothering...

CDA = A code embedded in the current firmware of your phone that tells SEUS which release to update your phone with.

The upshot being that if you change the CDA of your phone with XS++ to GW1, then update via SEUS, you end up with the latest publicly available firmware on your phone.

Best of luck!

Thanx to all of you for tips'n'hints regarding flashing and unbranding my P1i, enabling me to update SW/FW via SEUS to GW1! The recipe (linked sevaral places here) using XS++ (v3.1 Darwin) worked as described - no problems backing up GDFS or flashing/altering my phone's CDA.

The only issue when going through the process was backing up the phone's content via SE PC Suite. Actually had to reinstall (first remove/then install) all of the SE SW for it to work. All old backups also had to be removed (-> exported to file and deleted from the "Backup Manager"). Anyway; at least this solved the problem.

I also took a couple of screenshots while flashing/altering CDA using XS++, so if people are as uncertain (i.e. newbies) as me about what to expect while using XS++, I'll happily post them...

Anyway; thanx again! The new FW seems to be working great (except the flaws already mentioned some where in this forum).

Pt020,

Do you have the latest Netherlands version?
Personally I'm thinking of switching back to that version (if possible..).

Are there any issues you want to solve? Or do you just want to have the latest as you think it's the greatest?

I'm quite pessimistic about new firmware updates for P1i with all the new phones being announced...

i do not use the dutch language on my phone ,,,anyway i think choosing the on seus is just for the instraction, cos after the updat when you instal your phone it usks you again in what language do you want to have the phone installed.
i must say that i do not know what was the original version of FW i bought 6 weeks ago ,but it was something else ,i did update this P1i once and got this version, and there were many improvments, but as you say not perfect
the version that i have is .

may i usk why do you want to go back?

CDA162024/54 R3A

The 54 means it is the version specialized for the Netherlands.

Personally I would wait for the next (dutch) release.

Waiting for the Dutch release would be best, but when will it be available? I'm considering flashing to GW1, but I don't want to join the dead phone club. I just want the phone to react a little quicker, that's all!
