So any possibility of this W790 to be able to Minimize NetFront browser and come BACK to it no matter WHAT you wanna do (besides music playback)?!

* If SE did this, there would be no NEED to use Opera Mini ....
save for 2 more adjustments.
1> Allow more browser website links (even folders to be saved into NetFront), and allow the user to CHOOSE which browser (Firefox, Netscape, Opera, IE) to save links from.
2> Allow users to use NetFront to drill into Folders (pictures folder, FEEDS, Memo Notes) to view this content. I'd like to goto sites, then go into FEEDS and then view a note saved as a txt file (windows) and go to another site. Even back & forward to previewed or just viewed content WITHOUT having to goto Main Menu over & over again. Its amazing that Smartphones STILL cannot achieve this either (BB, WM, S60, UIQ) .... not so smart in my opinion.

Still Se is continuing their 2007 strategy which will repeat 2007.

1)w760i is announced in jan 08 and it will be available only in q2 why so long?
gives enough edge for competitors

2)2.2 inch only?

3)NO autofocus(2007 strategy)

4)No flash?Led(2007 strategy)

5)gps with such a small screen?

6)Not only Nokia but even motorola have starting floating 16mln screens,SE same old resolution

7)No 3.5mm jack, even motorola has started to intoduce it in their phones.

No wifi(a phone which is to be release in q2 08 should have this,)(all n series devices of 08 will feture wifi)

9)now we have to see if SE really has done anything good in terms of sound and build quality,

otherwise w760i,wont be popular

Positive i see is only gps and best pic,and lets see how the price is set for this device. If its
priced as w910i,then sure would be a miss.

Ah, let's see what you've got to say now..............

1. Long time? A period 3 months isn't long from the date of announcement to the date of release. This baby will come in April.

2. If you go any bigger, you'll end up with a bad battery life, less amount of features or larger size.

3. & 4. People buying this will buy it because they are music lovers, not because they need auto focus (99% of the globe population doesn't even know what this is for crying out loud!) or an LED flash.

5. As said, how about the 6110 Navigator from Nokia? I'd bet you don't think its screen size is small...

6. Obviously there's no need for this from the customers (CUSTOMERS, not gadget freaks like us!) and it's very hard - if not impossible - to spot the difference between 262k colours and 16 million colours. It's all about the display technology if you want proper colours - do a comparison of, say, K850 and N95, and see which phone has the best colour reproduction, viewing angle, sharpness, etc. By the way, check out your posts before posting, as they're full of mistakes. You're writing "SE same old resolution" - the resolution has nothing to do with the amount of colours, that you were talking about. SE's using the same resolution as most other manufacturers, QVGA.

7. Agree with you on that one, but as long as they bundle the phones with transformers, there's no such need for 3.5 mm jack on the phone.

8. HALLO, it's a feature phone, not a smart phone. And again, most CUSTOMERS won't need or use this, so why include it.

9. I'm sure they have.

So, if it doesn't live up to this, it won't be successful? Well, that's about the same thing you said with 90% of all 2007 phones and look what happened - you were WRONG. Same thing will happen again and again and again and again...

All you see is two positive things? Then I'd suggest you to get yourself a pair of STRONG glasses.

@RandomCarpet

It's an ambient light sensor for regulating the display back light.

So you're saying W910 has bad battery becasue of its 2.4'' screen?
Give me proof that 99% of the people dont know what AF is. Give me some survey result that was taken world wide that shows that stat. Sure, people dont know what AF exactly is, but 99% of them can spot a blurry and sharp pic. If what you say is true, then whats the point of AF in W610? Can you explain that?
Most people dont use WiFi? Suddenly you're "most people"? Most people i know use it.
There is a HELL of a difference in 16million and 256K. If your weak eyes cant spot it doesnt mean there isnt any. You cannot just randomly compare phone for these kind of differences, some pics need 16m screen to be viewable perfectly while some dont.
3months from announcement is so long that people will forget this phone was even announced when they see it in the shelves. Do you have any idea what will be out by Q2 2008?

there is nearly no difference between 18bit and 24bit colors in QVGA resolution in a 2.2" display.
(n95 and it's 8GB brother 24bit color depth for example was a must becuase of their large screen size)

every one can spot the 18bit colordepth on a 17" monitor but on a 2.2" display.. it is near impossible.

and if the camera sensor is similar to K800 then lacking AF has minimal effect on +2meters pics (which 90% of our snapshootings are) (but crap or impossible macro)

NO...this is absolutely wrong that there is a HELL of difference between 262K and 16M colors....second...when you take pictures from 262K color camera then doesn't mean that it will come up in 262K colors on your PC screen.....you are bedazzled...and yes..wifi is a great thing but it's Not Free and it's not available in wide area so when it comes to payment then people rely on their Operator Internet Services...you can surf Internet while travelling....so why you need wifi so badly ?....HSDPA is very fast but can your phone's browser handle the heavy shower of data in a nano time ?....let me tell you at one stage...the browser will load pages at same speed whether it is 3.2MBPS or 15MBPS at wifi...even in wifi network..the bandwidth is shared among local users....just don't go behind the Numbers...as far as GPS is concerned..it is included for your own purpose..not for Car driving sort of thing..it will help you to let you know your position in an unknown place and hence you can decide your next strategy...it's best in travelling...and yes while you travel...only your mobile data plan will help you not wifi...But yes lack of 3G call camera is a bit of concern..but do you really use it ?

it's a very good price indeed, its cheaper than w910, which i think is nothing compared to this baby
This should be the non-UIQ walkman flagship instead of w910, because w760 has:
A 3,2 MP camera (not the big difference though)
GPS built-in
Better design
Better gaming experince
Better price

All those PDA phones (including W760), do they require gprs connection in order to downloads the maps?
Or do they come with preinstalled maps?

I am asking because yes, GPS would be cool in a phone like this but it would be a disaster if the phone had to download the maps all the time using gprs.

I'm struggling with that design, it just doesn't appeal to me.
