the new version of KD Player supports 240x320 handsets and has AAC support now.

It's skinned to look and work very similar to the Walkman 2 models, so you can now install this on your K800 and using menu.ml to change the standard menu item for the built in player to this KD player - effectively giving Walkman looks and functionality to your K800.

I'll post a menu.ml and icon pack with walkman theme and kd player shortly.

hi there max!

twas a long weekend at my end... and boi! this thread had gone way way too far...

the KD player (im just downloading it right now...) but base from the comments. im very excited to use it. and also the menu pack that comes along with these apps.

there are few things i would like to ask... well just for clarifications..
is the R6BC firmware that came from SEUS and the R6BC from wotan are the same?!

and has anyone tried altering the font types for K800?! coz the one posted was way too kewl if we ever tried putting that up on our phones....

ciao compadre!

Now you can have Walkman firmware on K800 (sort of)

Actually it's not the actual firmware, but it loooks like it. This menu pack includes W850 startup graphics and themes. The menu pack includes orange walkman icons.

Also in the menu are the following changes:
Menu item 1 = Video Maniac
Menu Item 2 = Opera Mini
Menu Item 6 = Walkman (KD Player 240x320 - suports AAC)

In entertainment menu, you can find the original Media Player and Video Player, also I have added Mini Commander to the entertainment menu.

The java apps (Mini Commander, Video Maniac, KD Player and OPera Mini) are all included.

KD Player supports album art, but I haven't actually tested album art yet.

I just tried a song with album art but it didn't display the art. I'll look into it, would be nice if it can.

KD player seems not responsive for some menu. Also I find the joystick up movement is not very smooth. It is smooth outside KD player. Seems not very stable at the moment.

well if i encountered a "non-responsive" menu this is where i guess that when you use center key on the joystick.

if this is so, then i will try to use left or right softkey depending on whats available... its not actually non-responsive.. but i can go around the program. its quite fast inside a k810.

just like to know where to download skins...

I don't find it unresponsive either. I'm very happy, it's got a few features that are very useful for eg. you can send a song to bookmarks or playlist, so you can build a playlist while browsing through your songs, auto playlists, import playlist support (haven't tried it yet).

You can minimise with *, you can also keylock (hold #), however internet and activity menu keys aren't locked - so for true keylocking you need to use * to minimise, then normal keylock.

"0" toggles between the Now Playing screen and the track listing.

Controls are the same as Walkman, with the exception of the "Play" button on the side of the phone - this activates the inbuilt player in standby, not the Java player (obviously). And I know of no way to reassign the Play button to a java app.

Skinning is cool, as soon as we work out how to do it!

The visualisation module is cool too, but not very advanced.

EDIT: on second thought that doesn't help at all.

This is the kds file inside the skins folder witin the java app. It might help us change colours atleast:
