now, i ask, how many ppl are in your condition? i mean, so desperately need both feature? well.. as far as i can say, that's ur problem, not mine. Australia already have 3G, so i go for 3G. Even if i switch to 2G network. Why the hell i need EDGE? i dun even do video calling.. i browse internet using my computer.
So, u cannot force ppl to buy phone that has EDGE and 3G in one phone. You cannot even force me.. i dun need EDGE!! that's a fact. It might not be a waste of money for you, but it is a waste of money for me.. everyone has different need. Btw, there is almost no different in feature btw 3G and 2G if you only mainly use ur phone to make a call, both of them does their job very very well. I have K750.. that's my 2G, and K800 for my 3G. Perfect! no nokia and i am happy. (jus kidding, im not that offensive to nokia lar.. N95 is super damm good.. and i admit it, even N73). It just that some ppl here do make some funny comment, so i just add a bit more ^___^ |

@Mano- 6600 is 2003 while the p800 with those exact same features (vga camera, symbian and memory stick) you mentioned is 2002. That clearly puts the p800 ahead of the 6600. |

And how many SMS can be stored in the inbox of K800? 200? Not nearly enough. What were SE thinking limiting the inbox space to 200SMS in the K750. I am not sure if K800 has the same problem. |

k800 store anyways from 2000-3000 sms/mms depending on size
also supports html browsing
lol they have to pay royalties for CZ that's why it's more expensive lol

First of all, learn how to talk. If you cant be decent, better shut the hell up. I mentioned clearly that i am not sure if K800 has the same problem or not. You can just say it doesnt, instead of showing what an ass you are. |

I'm yet to see a vs thread that ends amicably or with less tensions/personal attacks. What does it prove? As long as there are 2 sides there'll be disagreements, showing a certain level of maturity goes a long way. DEAL WITH THE ISSUE(S) NOT THE PERSON FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

Why wouldnt it be more expensive? It has a bigger screen, HTML browsing, S60(new version), 3G and EDGE both, not like SE where edge and 3G are on different version of phones. It also has better video recording.
Tell me, why wouldnt it be expensive?

In my country there is no 3g so why would I want to pay for a feature I cant use?...I have K790 and use EDGE so k800 does not arrive to my country
Btw, K800 is very popular so thet means almost no one need EDGE AND 3g so it is no very useful having both....and word excel etc is not very useful for most people but if there is no qwerty keyboard it has no sense at all

yayyy.. thanks nagbali.l. that makes my point very clear.. haha. QVGA, you don't even have K800.. why would you say that? btw.. its not 2000-3000. I check from the my phone explorer and it says 1000 sms.. so its ok. QVGA.. why you sound like really upset? calm down dude.. i dun even bash nokia that hard.. i just say that if you buy N73 then you would prepare to waste some of your money for features that you don't use, just as nagbali said. Isn't that clear? most ppl use their phone just to make call and sms (even if the phone are capable of doing mp3 and camera, they don't even use it!! isn't it a waste of money for them if they use K800 in that way? but anyway, generally ppl will know that if they buy K800, then they will use these function as well up to some point). In the case of N73, how many ppl will understand to use the office function? how many ppl will understand to use the application and willing to pay for it? have you seen these facts? The fact is many S60 users only use their phone mainly just like what they can use in K800 (call, sms, camera, mp3). Some of them do not even know that they can change THEME!!! Isn't it a waste of money? why don't they just buy normal phone like the older days? |

I kinda understand who defends K800. is a great brand. I own a w800 and its a great phone, the best i´ve ever had and in some ways even better then k800 imo. The software is good, the camera is very good, its an overall very good experience, just like K800. However, thats an older platform and there are better ones in the market today like the N series. N73 is a better phone because of its techs and features. I keep saying that because its an objective analysis, if we start using too many subjective parameters like ´i dont need this, im my country i dont have this, i like black color, it matches my dog and etc´ we will really loose the point here. N73 and K800 are eletronic devices so they should be compared based on their eletronic possibilities and capacities, simple as that. N73 is the winner here. It has more things than k800 and good, useful things. Some of them may not be so useful to this or that person but nokia implements features thinking about what the users want and/or desires, to try and separate N73 from the rest and make it more provitable (expensive). It has bigger and better screen, better connectivity, much better video recording, much more complex OS that supports better apps and that envolves browsers, media players, remote controls, better games, better multitasking, videogame´s emulators, better adress and contact book and so on.... U may not need some much this or that but we must judge it by what it can do and where it stands in terms of techs. N73 is the winner. I´m not saying K800 is not a good device, its great indeed, but it isnt the winner here, simple as that. |

again... all opinion...
bigger screen yes..better screen? not necessarily, the smaller k800i screen is a better QUALITY screen.
better video recording definitely for the n73... better video playback not true.. if anything the k800i media player is a better app.. it has more features then the stock real player... such as the simple option to shuffle (lol) they both can play High bit rate video smooth with no stutter
remote controls? se has been using remote control for ages now... for powerpoint, pc connect etc...etc.. and it's pretty darn good.
i do see the edge for the n73 in connectivity.. they both support irda, cable, bluetooth
multitasking... again.. k800 can run tons of apps, wap, sms, music all at the same time.. pretty similar to the n73
phonebook and calender... while i like the nokia calender better i don't see what makes the phone book better... i wasn't even able to send me entire se phone to the e61.. in terms of storage of info both are practically the same.
so again these things are preferences..because i don't see the n73 as clearly being better.
when i had the n73 i liked it... main reason was cause of the 3rd party apps... you take that away and imo it doesn't have a leg to stand on comparing against my k800i...but if it ran wifi... i'd sacrifice the k800 for it.. until then i rather use my k800i and e61 combo

sloopjohnB. I didn't say that K800 is better than N73 in the first place in terms of technology wise. Yes, i know everything that you mention so you do not need to mention it again.
The point that i mention above indeed has a very strong relationship with the title "which is better K800 or N73). My answer is it depends on how you think about it. Feature wise it is an obvious thing that N73 can do a lot more and thus it is better. BUT, in reality, practically ppl use phones mainly for making phone call, sms, mp3 player and camera (the last two doesnt even apply to most users, and the first two apply to all users). See what i am getting at here? Unless u really understand how to use the applications (and willing to pay for it), then good on you. However, i am very very sure that 75% of the time S60 users DO NOT even use the full features of what an S60 can do. They use S60 as a normal phone. Why not getting a normal phone with a cheaper price instead? that is what i mean.
So, in the end of the day, the "features" that you mention about N73 do not give that much effect in comparison to K800. Thus, it makes the K800 almost equal to N73 to those users who do not use the function. The real fact is, most ppl go for N73 because it is NOKIA (that's what i know.. haha. they do not even know how much the phone can do and why they have to put so much money on it. Trust me, most of them go for it because they believe the phone is expensive because NOKIA gives a good quality phone). They just believe that their phone is better.. in what way? give them that question, believe me, most of them will answer "it is a NOKIA". Not because it is symbian and u can put application, u can use office application and so on and so on that u mention above (They will only mention 3G, not EDGE.. they do not know!!!). Wake up man!! that's the real world!! |

I dont hate the K800. What really upsets me is that K750 to K800 isnt a jamor upgrade. Certainly not that justifies the 100% price difference between them. Series 60 2nd Edition to 3rd edition was a massive leap. I just wished SE could have had a leap from the K750 to K800 like that. |
