@ gola:
They did; it's next to the side charging port. Like the P1i, it only lights up if there's a missed call, new sms received or if it's charging.
But yeah, a 'standby' function LED like most of the WindowsMobile offerings have (as well as various other handsets), would've been a simple enough addition..especially if I'm trying to locate the phone in the dark, LOL.

roflmao! Somehow the words Health Minister, alcohol and responsibly don't all belong in the same sentence
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.

@da krypsta: The best thing she could do to redeem herself would be by joining an AA support group: "My name is Mantombazana Tshabalala-Msimang and I am an alcoholic".
Just imagine the impact her words would have on all those heavy drinkers who are in denial.
Maybe then the ANC Youth League can claim the moral high ground, calling for a ban on Sunday boozing- not that I object, most of my drinking is done on Fridays and Saturdays.

@gola: They work perfectly well- no visual voicemail though. The first batch of unlocked iPhones had issues with Vodacom but it seems to have been resolved in subsequent updates of the jailbreaks that have pissed off Mr Steve Jobs.

From Vodacom Website:
HSDPA 3.6 offers higher downlink speeds than HSDPA and you can experience the speed of HSDPA 3.6 for FREE until 30 April 2008. Thereafter an additional R49.00 (incl. VAT) per month will be charged and added to your current data contract, bundle or usage.

So if you have one of the following phones beneath, you one lucky bugger:

Current Capable Cellphones

*
Samsung SGH U700, SGH F700V, SGH i450V
*Nokia N95, 6110 Nav, E90
*Motorola V6v, Z8
*LG KU970, KU990

As you can see there is no Sony Ericsson phone on that list.Suprise...suprise.Even that Samsung U700 horrid piece of *#@! is on the list.

I would pay that extra R49 no sweat.I had a taste of HSDPA on my aunts Samsung U700 and its damn impressive, and this is one notch up from that.So what happens, does the webpage appear before you even press the button lol because on the U700 it was pretty much instantaneous. You press the key and the webpage appears a split second later. Was so jealous for her internet speeds, not her phone though.

@ gola,
Yeah, it has this flash (below), but no Xenon example for the G900..:

@ Hobbster,
No such luck with those speeds here, boet. SA's way ahead with data speeds and data streaming options again.

JC's right. @ Hobbster: Methinks either that person who compiled the list didn't do their homework properly, or they've seriously got something against LOL.

The new X1, C702, C902, Z770, K660, W890 and W980 all have HSDPA 3.6 capability too.

@ gola,
Well for now it ticks just about all the boxes for what I'm after.
But it has been crucified by some 'specs sluts' for not having a Xenon flash, HSDPA or looking like a squashed K750i or K610i. None of these bothers me enough to give this phone a miss. I'd have to see what it's like to type with the stylus on the smaller screen though. My old P900 was still the best for stylus typing, well for me anyway.

I'm also considering that new Orange SPV as a second smartphone. I could then use my Orange SIM (curently in the P1i) in it and put the O2 SIM (currently in the P900) in the P1i.
Simcard musical chairs, LOL.
