Regarding the new Tablet, will it have LED flash ? Sony have a bad habit of removing the LED when the device is very thin ( Tablet Z + Z Ultra ) they said that they have to do these compromises to have it as thin as possible thought I don't think that this tiny LED will be a like a sledgehammer in the design !!

Looks like even zomg was surprised by the device, hopefully things will become clear at IFA and we won't have to wait for another event.

I personally don't believe 'Honamini' exists. If it does it'll be lower specced anyway, probably dualcore.

Is this based upon actual info (or lack thereof) from your own sources, or just a gut feeling?

Actual info. There are other phones coming either with Honami or in the weeks after the announcement but there will not be a smaller Snapdragon 800 model.

Habit?.... Call it a trend if you will

I guess it is differences in needs and priorities.

Sure, If for the same form factor and weight they could fit flash in it, they would have. But don't forget Z Ultra is a device that is pushing boundaries of conventional norm. Display size alone is a moot point. Last thing the ZU needed to be was large AND heavy, or large AND thick device(therefore massive in its true meaning). Despite all the doubters out there, it really is portable, despite its screen size, because it is light and thin.

It is like saying to someone on a diet, that having one singular scoop of ice cream is not going to make you balloon.

Some say at the cost of having no flash? Yes, I believe it is a worthy sacrifice.
Of all the phones that I have owned (none had Xenon), a situation where the use of flash was necessary were rare enough anyway, and not that the aid of flash helped me take a better picture in any case...

And a flash on a tablet? Do people really take pictures with their tablets, rather than use their phones or camera?

Yes, people do take pictures and film with their tablet. It looks ridiculous but we'll get used to that in time.

In China I see people using tablets to take photos and videos EVERYDAY. I stopped mentally processing their existence a while ago.

Finally some pocket-friendly phone, Thank you Sony!!!

I would be absolutely ok with:
4inch, 720p, triluminous screen
Snapdragon 600, 1-1,5Gb RAM
13 or 8 meg, bigger size sensor, with G-optics
16 and 32 Gb storage variants
Very good and clear audio output
2000+ mAh battery
some IP certification IP57 is absolutely ok.

I don't need the Honamini to parasite on Honami sales (if the specs would be too close) and I believe Sony thinks so as well!
Way to goo! Finally something that I can start to think of to replace my 2012 Xperia P!
Very good job! I am sooo excited!

That's true here in my country, I shoot primarily with my DSLR, but I can see many people taking pics with their massive tablet (mainly iPad), heck some people here think their tablets take better quality photos than my DSLR because the images from their massive screen looks better than the ones from my liveview screen!

@supercoolman

Honami is not the last device for 2013, There are two more phones left to be announced (maybe 3).
