congrats, i have messed up my mac too i deleted a var file in the log folder, stupidly now when i turn it on it boots then it just restarts, oops
apple are sending me a disc so i can do it at home |

Hi guys, my HDD has disappeared off the face of my mac?
I an access it fine I jsut have no finder or desktop shortcuts anywhere?
Any ideas?

Anyone else ordered Snow Leopard? I know some people are waiting for 10.6.1 or 10.6.2, but I thought I'd just get it now. Hopefully getting my copy delivered tomorrow (Friday 28th), it shipped yesterday.
Can't make up my mind whether to do an erase & install or archive & install (definitely not going with the upgrade option). Will probably go with the erase & install i think. Not sure about archive & install, I just want to start with as fast a system as possible and I wonder whether the archive & install will be as fast as erase & install (i.e. not the install time, but the system speed afterwards). Any thoughts? |

I have a question about my mac book pro, it is a late 2007 one so its the model before the current one. Will i be able to set it up to a monitor and close the lid so that i use an external mouse and keyboard? I know it is possible with the current mac book pros' as a mate has this set up but im not sure if it will be possible with the older ones. |

Cheers for the reply, got another problem lol
My downloads folders has gone from my dock, it used to be near the bin and was always there and now its gone.
Also the US apple online store are they the prices what you will pay when you go into a store say $299 for a ipod touch or do they add vat/tax? |

you can drag and drop your downloads folder back to the dock from your home folder..
You will pay about 2% on top as per local state law...

A it worked thank you, so on the $299 ipod it would be another 6 or so dollars? |

Entirely depends on the particular state's law.
Go through to the checkout on the US Store and try different ZIP codes and you'll see that the prices can vary a fair bit from state to state.

State tax can't be from state to state.. sooo... If you're going to NYC, say you're staying in CT.... et voila you'll get charged no tax...

O thank you, i tried it in NYC and it works out at 325 dollars which is about £205. Not really worth it i dont think. |

Anyone downloaded the new itunes?
You can copy music from computers, you need to register them all onto one account but thats nothing for me being to copy all my housemates music and vice a vers |
