Hmmm okay, here is the deal.
Using the 1.8mbs hsdpa is free, you only pay for the data you send and recieve, (between 18c and R2/MB depending on your data subscription), so effectively you do not pay any "line rental" for the 1.8mbs hsdpa, you dont pay any for the use of gprs/edge/3g 384 either.
For the next 3 months, "line rental" on the 3.6/7.2mbs hsdpa will be free as an introductory offer. (yep, 7.2mbs is available, but not officially)
From April (i think) you will need to pay R49/month "line rental" on the 3.6/7.2mbs connection, however, the 1.8mbs, 384kbs, edge and gprs "line rental" will stay free.
Please note that only the faster speed service will be free for the next 3 months, you still pay normal data rates on the data you send and receive.
I use the term "line rental" to refer to subscription to the service as everyone in sa understands teh line rental part of the adsl service.
I hope this information helps.

LOL, I guess almost every chick enjoys some special effort and being 'put on a pedestal'.
Fortunately for me (and my wallet) the better half is not over-demanding when it comes to Valentines Day gifts etc.

CPW here has the N96 and N78 in their coming soon sections already... although it's going to be May before they get them, apparently.
And ? Behind again, with the C902 a month later, and the G900 a month after that, i.e. July...

Does anyone know what the percentage is for WAP usage amongst SA Cell Phone users is, I found a figure of 80%, is it that high.
Any other WAP stats for SA would be highly appreciated, I'm doing a project. |

The gregarious Google Gargoyle goes googling for GPRS stats n' goods... LOL.
@ kolakidd:
Welcome. Unfortunately, my brief bout of googling didn't find all the stats you're after, but here's a few that might help with what you're currently busy with:

Also, what about the okes in the forums at http://mybroadband.co.za
Or perhaps http://www.cellular.co.za ?
Good luck.

I'm with you on this one, Hobbs... I haven't a clue what the stats would be for wap usage, although i'm certain that it's bound to be high, based on the number of people using services like mxit, mig33, etc.
So, how'd everybody's day go? Did we spread the lurve?

@da wanqsta: That value card from Tesco is absolutely ridiculous...bloody brilliant, dunno how anyone will get laid with that card.
@kolakidd: You'll probably find that amongst youngsters the rate of usage is quite high. With the GPRS-enabled handset almost ubiquitous and lots of applications out there that people are using there's only a single conclusion that can be drawn. |
