My point is that it isn't a massive step forward from Z, it's basically Z v1.5. Much like Arc S > Arc, it's an incremental upgrade to make for the original misgivings not really an entirely new device. I think if Sony advertised these incremental upgrades as just that then the real new devices would get much more anticipation and press coverage and probably more praise.
People here pick out Samsung as an example of a company with one main handset in each segment per year and getting much press coverage for it, but if you look at there portfolio they do many variations throughout the year but only build up to the one lead device, the variants and refreshes go without massive ad campaigns. Sony should learn this trick and not build us all up in here for what is essentially a Z with bug fixes.
arc s to arc was nothing but a minor cpu(just 400mhz) upgrade. While that isn't the case with honami.
cpu/gpu is almost 2x powerful.
screen is now the best in class while earlier it was just mediocre(in some cases)
possibly ip55/58 certified along with being shock proof(which takes it many notches above xz)
3000mAh battery is far bigger than xz
Camera as of now is going to be many times better than xz
2x speaker performance
major software improvements
Dedicated s master chip
Overall Honami is 2x-3x times the XZ.
I don't know how it is JUST an incremental update!
It would be better if we rather consider it an entirely new device(BECAUSE IT IS)!!! |

The difference, though, between Z to Honami and Arc to Arc S/S to SL is that the latter two are incremental hardware updates (slight overclock, basically), whereas, IMO, Honami keeps Z "soul" but is also a new device: New screen tech, new speakers, better music amplifier, Better camera, improved design, new firmware, huge CPU and GPU update, etc etc...
+1 Totally agree ..
For music chip they will use Qualcomm WCD9320 .. |

Honami doesn't seem as impressive as it did for good 200 - 300 pages ago.
Now I just feel meh because lens alone can't do miracles and shots taken by the prototypes haven't impressed me a bit.
This start to feel like a classic Sony anticlimax all over again.
I hope the announcement day will prove me wrong.

You have nobody but yourself to blame if you're underwhelmed. There were some, frankly, ridiculous rumours flying around here for a while. Even some sarcastic/joke rumours were taken seriously (a few even leaking to external news sites), by some.
People have forever, painted a perfect device in their mind (often unique to their usage-case) for whatever new phone comes next. When it releases, and is very good, but not quite up to their lofty dream-standards, they get disappointed.
Overall the Honami is shaping up to be an all-round excellent device. Pity it doesn't have a 2/3" sensor, but a 1/2.3" is still considerably larger than the average, and if a better optical system with higher quality lenses increase the amount of light that can be captured by the, already better-than-average sensor, then that will be even better. Top that with a more advanced image signal processing algorithm; fantastic.
Yeah, it could have had smaller bezels, but they wanted rounder edges for improved ergonomics. Upgraded the edges from glass-fibre polyamide to aluminium or some other metal (from the looks of things). Also, the bigger and probably hotter internals need more space to fit in, and sometimes increasing the thickness doesn't solve the problem, and an increase in width and/or hight will be necessary.
Ugh.
Anyway. Looking forward to the Honami. Will probably buy, if I can afford it, or may go for the Honami Mini, whenever that comes out. |

I think I mentioned this plenty of times.
All manufacturers build phones based on general consumers standpoint, never fanboys'. Everybody must understand that general consumers fortunately don't give a nickel about how large the camera sensor is etc.
Honami looks great on paper, 20MP camera, waterproof and quad cores, which will capture consumers' attention leading to higher sales.
Honami will destroy Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5's camera quality, but was never meant to compete with the 1020.
If consumers were to think like you - the Lumia 1020 will be a grand success, however the disappointing sales figures says otherwise. |

@amirprog:
Honami should feature two speakers, not in stereo position, but two of them, that should deliver a decent sound, way better than Z and Z Ultra.
For real stereo the speakers should be far apart from each other, at least 20cm on a smartphone, so there is technically not any smartphone with stereospeakers (yeah, not even the mighty Boomsound on the HTC One).
But nevertheless two separate speakers will very likely sound better than a single one.
@Ricky D:
I understand, even though I do not agree

when do you guys predict that sony will start implementing higher quality loudspeaker or even 2 loudspeakers for stereo sound similar to the htc one in their flaship devices? maybe in the honami? reviewers are also disappointed with z and z ultra speaker, they say its really weak, one of their disadvantage, i hope sony will stop cutting corners on this.

not being funny and no disrespect intended but stereo sound from a device that is less than 2 inches wide is quite simply a waste of space, lets get to reality here, one good speaker to function as a phone it absolutely perfect, you will not and never will have a getto blaster in your pocket, it's honestly just a stupid concept, I use my phone for music in various scenarios and none of them would ever involve using the phone built in speaker |
