Writing that you need a new firmware due to problems is one thing, writing pointless messages like "Where's the new firmware", "When is the new firmware due" is, well, pointless
When there's a new firmware, you sure will be able to read about it here... so until then... |

@cybervisitor, agreed. that was pretty much why I closed this thread
lets just wait. it WILL be posted here when its available and until then there is no point to continually ask when it will be available
also just remember that sometimes a new firmware can introduce new problems so unless you have a problem known to be fixed in a new firmware then its best to wait to hear reports from other members
mind you, having said that, I'm as impatient as the next guy and usually update as soon as the new firmware becomes available!

new firmware is seen as a panacea, however I have found with all mobile brands from time to time the firmware gets corrupted, for no obvious reason, and just reflashing to the current firmware, even if you already have it, can fix the problem. Sometimes even master resting is enough. My K700 developed a bit of a wobbly once, I master reset it, and everything returned to normal.
I suspect many phones crashing etc on R1L002 are infact not faulty firmware VERSIONS as such, but just corrupted firmware. I find it hard to believe that one guys K750 R1L will run perfect, but another guys will crash all the time, and that the firmware version is at fault in one but not the other? If they have different operator branding that may be the cause, in which case the phone needs debranding. However many unbranded R1L handsets have been reported on this forum as crashing all the time, and I sometimes wonder is it really the Firmware VERSION as such that is at fault? I mean, my K750 simply never crashes.
Regarding memory cards, there have been several posts around esato by dudes having problems with crashing that went away when they replaced or formatted their memory cards. So I expect memory cards may be one of the factors in supposed R1L crashing also.
I know when I upgraded my K750 to R1L, the memory card was in the bay, and it was corrupted (unreadable by the phone) after the upgrade. I had to format the card in windows, then it was fine. The phone itself was okay after the upgrade.
So maybe format the card in windows, and see if that helps the situation re charging.... also maybe reflash without the memory card installed. |

I just have one question: does the FW of W800 R1K, have the same problem with the video quality of K750 latest FWs??

The new firmware will be released the day everyone has R1L (or is happy sitting on R1A).
Then the new firmware will screw every phone that downloads it on the first three days, before SE realise they have to bring out another firmware to fix it |

I'm asking when new firmware will be released and will it able to fix video quality but I get this type of reply.
Thank you for supporting Sony Ericsson product.
With regard to your enquiry, we would like to inform that the new phone software will enhance the phone operating system, there is not any negative feedback on this R1L002 software.
However, we would like to suggest you kindly bring the phone along the warranty card to our service center should the phone fail to operate under normal use.
Please contact Sony Ericsson Call Center again if we can assist you further.
Best regards,
Desmond Tew
