That's really good news! Any idea of the release date and if this will have dual or single camera? Though, with the rumor of Samsung buying out the entire first batch of the S845(or whatever it's going to be called), doubt it would be anytime soon. I guess the most important question for me is, will the headphone jack and physical camera button be retained?
Edit:
Forgot to ask earlier, when you say new CPU, is that the 845 or Sony is going with something beside Qualcomm?

What we really want
- higher screen to body ratio
- stereo speakers
- 960fps in FullHD is good, but the better is to bring more time to the mix and integrate it in the main video shooting feature, meaning while shooting a regular video, we can do a 960fps in the middle.
- keep the 3.5mm audio plug.
- 4K @ 60fps is good, but please bring 1080p@240 & 720p@480 also.
- Wireless charging. Standard USB Power Delivery Fast charging ( so QC4+ )
- Better OIS, not to say current Sony Image stabilization are not good, but OIS usually bring it's own advantages, If we add Sony IS to OIS it will be unbeatable.
- Bluetooth 5.0. and please make it ready for BT 5.0 specific Audio codec also which should be finalized later this year

I understand that the " wireless" charging ( not really wireless) has a good point because it keep the usb from being demaged.
But you cannot do many things while it is charging.
It is slower than usb.
Temperature gets higher compared to usb charging.
I've read many comments of Samsung S6/S7 owners that say the phone gets hot.
And we do not know if it would be ok or it would neutralize the Qnovo.
Does this phone come as replacement of XZs or XZP?

XZ Premium is 69.48%, and as a reference the Google Pixel 2 XL is only 76.4%. So, the new flagship is going to be DOPE! Provided the rumor is true.... |

The build quality of XZ1 with 78-80% STB ration. OMG, The phone will look phenomenal. I wouldn't care even if its a lcd display. Just hope they improve their lens quality and image processing as IMX 400 is an excellent sensor. |

Sony was ahead of time with Xperia ZL even before LG slim bezel hype of thing,
75% screen body to ratio kinda first of it kind in 2013 alongside with water resistant device.
unfortunately, they just skipped it over and take fully leap onto water resistant bandwagon.

My XZ Premium as expected is still running like a dream, however if the new flagship looks as good as it sounds then I maybe tempted to trade it in.

If XZ1 has 79% screen to body ratio, in the same body with same left & right bezels, then the screen will be 18.5:9.. and looks like this.
To the left: equal top and bottom bezels, no space for Sony logo.
To the Right: larger top bezels to make some space for Sony logo, but still doesn't look good.
I would take the left one blindly.. just not in blue

It can be 16:9 ...
LG G4 has a 5.5" screen. You can say it has same height of Z3+. Maybe 1 or 2mm more.
S7 Edge has 15.1cm, screen/body is about 76%.
Maybe they bring a bigger screen instead, like 5.7.
Note 5 is not that big for example. |
