SONY should adjust the camera issues which is sharp the center and blur around already. It should be sharp and clear entire photo if it's not macro mode.
As for the sample from xperiajunkie, I found the quality is average not so good and not so bad.
We would like to see more when it's release and compare with the other phone. |

everyone seems to expect slr quality out of a phone camera these days.. wonder why.
because the note 4 and galaxy s6 can rival DSLR quality in good lighting based on the many sample photos and comparisons posted online. |

^ uh... don't make me laugh dude. no camera phone "rivals" a dslr. there is no comparison. the optics alone all the difference.

Well, the panasonic lumix, lumia 920 and the others can rival dslr at daylight but I doubt about the S6 and note 4. The only advantage Z3 has over the other is in low-light where it has better iso-sensitivity. It's really disappointing for a camera-maker such as sony with all their capabilities to not maximize their potential. They have the resources and know-how but THEY have always been so stubborn. I don't think it's more of hardware/availability that's stopping them. It may still be their philosophy to save the camera industry. |

As for display and camera.....we don't even know how they will perform, so lets not get ahead of ourselves.
If you're really so enamoured with the S6, buy one!
As for imaging sensor hardware. Sony can't put a new sensor in, if it isn't ready for mass production. This is simple stuff.
They can't magically put a new sensor in. That's not how this works.
Design is subjective. Lack of changes isn't. We don't know how display and camera will actually perform but we have leakes which we can base our opinions on. On those leaks it doesn't look so good. I won't buy the S6 - it's too big, too expensive, has too small battery, lacks waterproofness, FM radio and digital noise cancellation.
It's possible that IMX230 isn't ready for mass production (altough it was scheduled to start this month) but in that case they shouldn't hurry a Z4. Pierre Perron (Vice President Sony Mobile Western Europe) said that their new strategy ditches launching (a device) for the sake of launching. Based on all the leaks it seems that new strategy doesn't work yet - Z4 appears to be Z3 with new (and not exactly better) SoC.

I wonder if Kaz's logic is like... (If we make xperia with too good camera we can't sell RX100 series...)

I'm getting frustrated with Sony recently....
If they don't have anything fresh new in IFA, I will just go with the Note Edge or IP 6s/7+

Yeah. The Z5 series should bring something fresh. I can't tell anything from the sample photo yet but Sony is not trying hard enough softwarewise. Adding a few modes for camera is just lazy. They continue to release the same phone over and over. This is the Sony forum and eventhough we are fans, we are not satisfied. |

I hope they step up their game. Atm, the Z4 is not a must-buy for me anymore.
I have been waiting to upgrade my Z for years, but I got an IP 5S instead of a new Z series...
Anyway, I'm still supporting them, but not in their mobile department atm

Ehhh please just stop!
Even the Canon Rebel series runs circles around the Galaxy S6 and Note 4 in terms of quality.

just to clarify: what i mean is note 4 and s6 can be at par with a dslr in good light and in auto
i'm a sony fan but let's admit it, the xperia camera on auto is really inferior.
well, even in manual, the xperia camera cannot compare to the sharpness of the note 4's. we love sony but we can't help in implementing the needed changes with our endless blind adulation. even when you tone the exposure down to avoid the characteristic overexposure in xperia cameras, you can't still change the less sharp details upon pixel peeping.
of course, these are all observations through pixel peeping. but how else can we judge the superiority/inferiority of a camera if we don't pixel peep?
