bottomline is that Megapixel race would make more sense if it's used properly. like in photography. if the sensor increases its pixel count while at the same time improving noise suppression without adverse effects on the image output, I have no problem with it. in fact I've been dreaming of a gigapixel camera since last year

I know the picture above came from dozens of images stitched together, but imagine of one day our smartphones could take this enormous details pretty sure the memory technology would be advanced enough by then that we may find ourselves enjoying terabytes of storage on a tiny microsd card

we need dozens of live pictures with the Honami/Q100 lens once you got your hands on it

I was planning on going to IFA (went last year for XperiaBlog, I had a talk with the Sony Mobile design guys) but can't make it this year. |

It seems that he does have an old prototype with a case on the back and old firmware, so I wouldn't be that concerned about weight and performance.
