Finally seen the sharks here in the philliphnes. They looked scary, but luckily they where sleeping. Malapascua was so nice. We are now on Boracay which is more like a turists trap. But it's nice here too.

@ Nephilim, I'm sure those Mahler recordings must be good. I have a reference CD by B&W (yes, the speaker makers) with some very good classical cuts including a good recording of Handel's Messiah.
I went around Megamall and The Podium yesterday but to my dismay, couldn't find any good reference &/or classical discs. A few years back it was easier to find these things - I didn't even see any Telarc CD's though there was a L'Quattro Stagioni CD (always a good test of violin richness or harshness) that caught my eye in Odyssey.
I'll try the Makati area next time. If I find that Mahler or those discs I mentioned, I'll PM you and arnold.

@laffen, did you see the moray eels?
@henryj, xsite mobile is one "where-to-buy" place for PDAs. is the iPAQ worth it? hmmm, if i'm not hooked on audio stuff right now, i'd get the Pocket Loox, Toshiba e740, Cassiopeia E-200 in that order.

@mozilla: Many thanks. I've heard of the B&W cds but I've never heard one. I think my cousin has a Mark Levinson cd which came with his power amp and proceed pre/pro. I haven't heard the disc yet though. Damn I love his system.
I do have a couple of copies of Vivaldi's 4 seasons. True, it's a good basis for listening to strings. My copy isn't great though. One of those commercial recordings. The only times I get really picky with good sounding classical music is when I used to buy cds for my dad. I guess it was his influence that kinda got me into opera as well. I only wish I understood what they were saying.

@ Nephilim, Yeah those Mark Levinson's have the "drool factor" indeed. I demo'ed a set once in Castro St. in San Francisco with a Wadia CD drive & D/A convertor on Apogee's then on BMW 801's. Grabe! The CD we were listening to was John Patitucci.

@pogie
A discharge from an electric eel can kill the small fish that are its primary food, but electric eels can also shock potential predators. A touch from the electric eel's tail can effectively disable a human or a large animal with a stunning shock, although a single discharge is usually not enough to kill. However repeated shocks could kill, and falling over in the water after a disabling discharge could result in drowning. An electric eel would NOT make a good pet!
