Lets suppose they decide to make it exactly like the render.
A 21:9 screen could be 15.166 cm x 6.5 cm.
And if each bezel was 2 mm, phone would be same height of XZP.
Screen area would be 98.58cm2.
A 5.5" 16:9 has 83:61cm2
S8+ has 97.54cm2

Hi Joseph,
Have you heard about dual camera on Xperia ?
SONY's Product Manager in Thailand inform me there will be Xperia with Dual Camera next year. But not sure if that's true or false.

Seems like Apple has interest in JDI's Active Full Screen LCD for 2018.
According to what I've read the screen has half the thickness of oled, 0.5mm against 1mm.
It might be used on upcoming Mate 10.
I would not like to see the next Premium with poled screen.
Many websites say it is not much better than one on G Flex 2.
Not same quality of the screens used on their TVs.

Agree with you,but most people want OLED
I don't know that Sony OLED(TRIMASTER EL use in professional monitor) is POLED or not? |

Sony add their tech to improve it even more.
But the mobile screens are not same level of Samsung.
Even old Note 4 screen seems better than V30's.
They should wait for JDI.
JDI has many clients, it is pretty rare to see screen issues.
What about LG?
Previous G phones had issues with burn in, mainly G4. |

Just like LCD, quality of oled depends on how well a manufacturer tunes its display. Thats why colour on XZP is comparable to S8.

I read rumors, but this was ...well.. rumor. And since its a long time ago I would like to know if we still can hope for something... |

Not sure... but I had post this link on SONY MOBILE facebook's page and the admin of that page remove the link !
I have to say that the customer service of SONY MOBILE is extremely bad ! They try to hide the truth and not trustworthy company anymore !

Sony customer service probably consists of a single technician most likely on work experience with a budget of £5 so getting a response will take time. Obviously its a big deal to fix it so if it comes it will be in a larger, more complete update, I don't imagine they would have the team push out a dedicated update for the camera like they do for the flipping What's New app. I still don't have themes working on the dialer, its the same ugly blue and white with the same lag. I feel like that won't change until I buy another flagship. |

On anothet day, there was a comment on GSMArena and someone said same about bezel size, between 0.8 -1 cm.
The bezel.of LG G6 has 7mm.
The current phones must have about 1.5 or 1.7 cm.

This article or a link to something says or translates to one of either left or right side will be bezel-less hinting at something similar to the Galaxy Edge Note so I believe this is being misinterpreted. It also explains it could be because of the side mounted FPS which makes me think this is waffle.
I am pretty sure it will have top and bottom bezel for stereo speakers but not ridiculously sized like the XA1. I believe the high end devices will retain side FPS, mid-rangers are likely to get FPS but not necessarily on the side.
Those wanting the Y design, it would look like the Z5 which is a step back actually. I can't really imagine what a whole new design will look like unless they mean a small bezel screen because their hands are tied regarding the internals they use. |
