@SEAN72 - Thanks for your opinions. So what would you recommend? I am now thinking better get all my testing done within those vital first 7 days.
4.6" - 5" Screen - angles not an issue.
Battery - Would like to be able to take it off charge at 7am and not worry until 9pm before I have to charge it again.
My usage - a commercial user, lots of calls, a good amount of whatsapp and emails. A bit of surfing. WiFi in the office and at home, BT in the car.
Software - something smooth and silky, currently on iPhone 4S with iOS 6
You seem to be knowledgable so value your guidance. Actually anyone else who wants to make think about my choice. |

But what do you expect?
Remember XT is a stellar performer and amazing in benchmarks.
I felt it brilliant. I still want ZL but this one is awesome.

Yeah HTC's ultrapixel is no match for sony's Exmor RS...
the one to watch out for is samsung galaxy SIV camera....
i have a very bad felling that SIV screen and cam will be much better than Z
i hope that's not the case.... |

Samsung is horrible plastic crap with a cartoon UI the S4 will look like the note 2 in my opinion. |

I prefer ONEs cam. Video looking much smoother and have no problem with autofocus, but Z has instead much better sound. The pics looking almost same... SONY should be the clear leader in cams but they are not.
tapas: I can feel you! Same here... The ONE is already competitive enough for Z and now SIV comes faster than expected... SONY is again behind both...
I have a lot problems with WiFi connection... It always break down. Don't understand why. Other devices here doesn't have problems...
I can buy the Z now 100Euros cheaper, but I'm not really convinced about Z.

Don't know about the screen as Samsung may use an LED panel.
Camera I think won't be massively better than S3, same algorithms, same colours, same sharpness... just bigger. Bit like the Arc > X S. Pretty much same camera just larger photos. |

Not impressive? Keep in mind that the exmor RS sensor is developed to gather more light to improve low light performance. Part of this improvement is lost because they made the pixels smaller in order to build a 13MP sensor instead of a 8mp sensor. But still the xperia Z manages to outperform the S in daylight performance. According to those samples the Z has less noise, warmer colors and a sharper image. That's pretty good. Besides that, it also has outstanding low light performance. I really don't get why people don't like the camera on the Z.
edit: these video's compare the xperia z with the iphone 5. It shows that the xperia z is at least equal in daylight and outperforms the iphone in low light.

Those people commenting on xperiablog claiming the Z has a bad camera must be blind or fanboys. The only negative thing about the camera is the autofocus. It has trouble focussing and keeps moving sometimes.

@Doministry, all i am saying really is i don't feel it as a massive step up. If i had the XT still i would not be rushing to upgrade. Didn't feel as premium as i thought and the screen just looked the same as the XT. And as for quad core it barely makes a difference
