Ah, that could be ProCare only, or something along those lines?

Hey everyone, my MBP has started to run really slow at times. Im not sure what it is but i think it could be my hard drive is getting really close to full, its a 120GB drive and i have 8GB free, could this be it?

If so how easy is it to fit a larger capacity drive?

I think i worked it out, at that point i hadn't restarted the laptop in over 3 days lol,

Im still thinking about replacing the drive, you can always use extra storage space.

The thing is i cant put my finger on what is taking up all the space, ok so i have about 20 gig of music and the rest i dunno...

Get the info on the contents of your home folder, as it could be that the space being taken is in Applications or Library?

Wicked thank you Luke that is just what i needed.

I have sorted out the user folder and now moved onto a folder called private, it has 4 folders called var, etc, tmp, tftpboot. Now that don't really bother me apart from the total soze of the var folder, 16.3 GB. None of it seems useful to me but can i just delete it?

I think i once deleted those files once... caused problems. Best to google the file names and check

on my linux firewall/router, var holds most of the logs and tmp is the tempory directory

Got myself one of the new MacBooks last week and i have to say its pants!

Very slow and freezes all the time, gonna take it back and spend the extra money getting a higher spec model.
