Hi Guys, just went down to one of the singtel shops and the salesman told me N7650 is selling like hot cakes and they are out of stock already. Wow! Is it really that sellable? And I came to understand from their sales personal saying that N7650 can make phone calls without sliding the keypad open for those which was installed in the phone book, is it true? Any one of you who had N7650 able to tell me? Thanks in advance.

From the looks of it, I think its possible as the only buttons you need to gain excess to phone books are all not being block.

Even though you say its selling like hotcakes, none of my friends (nokia users) are interested in it!

dairin-> Do you think is it due to the high pricing that most of us are hesitated to get it or really this phone does not create any interest to them . Say if N7650 were to sell at $600+, in your opinion don't you think ppl will rush to buy?

From what i know, most dealer shops only brought in around 3 to 5 sets because they wanted to test the market first. I doubt its really that sellable. People always use that as a sales pitch to get you excited and anxious to purchase one. From my view, the 7650 is not a phone that would attract the average user as it may be ugly, bulky, and the features might intimidate some people. My guess and observation is that gadget heads are the only people likely to invest in a phone like that.

Nah!
For a 16 year old like me, never will I have the money to buy it!
Even if I have it, I would be going Sim Lim to build a PC with that money.

my opinion is true that the specs of the phone is really interesting and very tempting indeed to have that kind of phone but the price maybe out of reach for some of us
think this kind of phone more suitable for those executive person who always on the go
Tony if u say N7650 only abt $600+, i think more ppl can afford it than the current price which is abt 1000 with line

Yeah, its either $31 or $32. You should get the original as handsfree damages quite easily. With an original. it comes with 6 months warranty and se will replace a brand new one for you if they can't service your old one when its spoilt.

I ene doubt executives would pay that kind of money for a brick regardless of the technology it has. Many execs (yuppies) also carry pdas and if I were them, I'd not want to add anymore bulk to my pocket/briefcase as it is. I'd go for a smaller, sleaker phone. I've seen that the people carrying the 7650 around singapore are all around the mid 20's, male, not exactly high income execs, and know not what they are doing!

If I were nokia in singapore, I'd make a sleek, fully customizable phone to tap the young ah beng/ah lian market. That's where the money's at cos they can't afford phones like a t68 or 7650, but notice that the bulk are carrying mid priced phones around $150-$400 like 3310, 8250, 8310 (the biggest joke of mobile). Provide better melody composers, flashy lights, and deafening ringing tones!

Quote from today's Computer Times:

"Operators are hopeful that by 2004, each person will send about two MMS messages per day."

3G soon? Not in at least another 4 years!

Anyway, kudos to M1 for being the first to offer mms and have a month long free trial period. Still waiting to trade mms. Anyone? Hello?
Anyone out there.....?
