I can see it but the problem is that it's a randomly generated filename. This is a common practice by all the "best" malware to avoid detection and removal.

Have you tried Ewido? Basically, you need a decent antispyware app that can detect rootkits since it could be well be one of those.

I'm a bit out of date on the latest and greatest antispyware apps these days since I don't mend computers very often any more, but I think you need to be looking in that direction

Can someone copy they're version of ASMS from Xp proffesional as my install won't work ? Then I will try set the file directory as my memory stick instead.

I'm confused again; I'm assuming that this is a windows file? Have you tried sfc /scannow to replace dodgy files the windows way?

Because some files, .dll's especially, need to registered too after you've copied and pasted them over.

EDIT:

Ah... you can't get XP to install, right?

Are you sure that your computer isn't poorly? Dicky memory or hard drive can cause installation problems like this.

Can you put a generic version of XP on an eee? Are you sure?

Also, I'm not sure that ICS for Xbox 360 will work with XP either, you need full media centre I think?

That's good to know because I thought you needed media centre or Vista Home premium / Ultimate!

I don't think your eee and XP mix though

Hmmm, I've seen this before. Some do network ok, some don't...

Assuming that you've done all of the usual stuff, I can't really help to be honest

This should get the Run Command back:
1. Right click on the task bar at the bottom of the screen and select properties.
2. Select the Start menu Tab at the top of the properties windows.
3. Click on Customize.
4. Select Advanced tab.
5. Scroll down the list and tick the Run Command box.
5. Click OK on all thye menus to back out.
