4K would be unpractical in Honami anyway. Possible heat issues, battery drain, small ROM that would probably degrade the video quality (it would decode 4K video probably the way YouTube does it), possible fps drops... I believe the tech in Honami is just not mature enough for 4K to be practical. If you really want 4K videos that bad, just wait for the next gen Honami. I'm more than happy with 1080p@60 fps. |

Ok specifications given by ramu are fine fore RAY 3 but I expect a respectable device size...
A device size like samsung S4 mini it's possible ?
If is near this : 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.9 mm (samsung s4 mini) for a 4.3 I'm all for this |

@Ramu: With regards to the tablet Z2.....someone mentioned in previous pages that it will definitely not be available in 2013 and only 2014.....can you confirm this maybe??

Thank you for your responses re shatter-proof film/protector
re 2014 H1 flagship,I'm not sure where this is leading All of a sudden 5" display isn't large enough, 2014 is all about 5.2" then probably 5.5".... wiping line between phones and phablets.
Cheers,
Miki

Yes, nobody cares for LG, explains why they are now the 3rd largest smartphone maker, 2nd largest Android OEM and 4th largest mobile phone maker, if nobody cares for them then not a single soul cares about Samsung, yeah? Just following that incredible logic of yours.
Could you please remind me where Sony stands again?
Actually Sony is now third by the value of the smartphones sold. Sony has made more than LG in past two quarters. Last Q it was $3 billion (Sony) vs $2.4 billion (LG) so the difference is quiet clear and Yen also have weakened significantly and Sony is doing so well in Japan so if the Yen was as strong as last year the lead Sony has over LG would've been even bigger. Don't say Yen's depreciation has helped Sony; Sony makes smartphones in China and some ASEAN countries and they pay their many parts in USD so it actually hurts the Mobile division.

We're talking marketshare here, not value, see what I mean about changing the yardstick? I remember how the Apple fans hated the marketshare arguement and focussed solely on value when Samsung began eating in to it, marketshare soon became more profitability.
Okay, now you're just not serious. I remember when the trolls very recently were going on about how HTC was superior to Sony because at least they made a profit.
Regardless, going by your logic, that the divide between high ends and low ends isn't really significant, why didn't we praise the Nokia of two years ago when they sold more phones than Apple? Many feature phones. What's wrong with that? They both are primarily for calling, right?
You also seemed to have ignored the other points made regarding the context. You'll also find the yardstick in the context, which I did list...
It's like talking to a white screen with a blue background...
Anyway, you've proven yourself. Troll through and through.
On topic, how often will the lens accessories be refreshed? Samsung have already started to reverse engineer it. Something big is coming. A cheap, plastic S version of these. |

Number 1 reason? Nokia was losing horribly in the smartphone arena, and low end Androids were eroding the markets were Nokia feature phones dominated, so really, comparing Nokias situation 2years ago and LG's makes no sense, very different situations.

Hi Miki, I think the term phoablet was invented in this very thread to describe this artistic blur between phones and phablet. It dis not gain much popularity though!

There's a line between phones and phablets? I thought there was a device out there at pretty much every 0.1" interval from 4" to 7".
I've always hated this term 'phablet' as it has no clear defining description and the word contains syllables and letters that simply don't feel right together. If I was classifying the mobile device world I would lose the definition of tablets too and simply use the word 'device' or 'touchscreen device' combined with an number of inches for the screen size. The operating systems are the same from 4" up to ~10", the chipsets are the same, the only defining factor in the barebone structure is the screen size which cannot be clearly separated into groups. Where did you here that
@franky900320
From the info I have, it will be released this year and not next. ZOMG from neogaf has also mentioned the same
@myninja
I doubt Bloomberg will take info from Esato, they have their own insiders in Sony Japan. So it most probably comes from their internal source in Sony Tokyo.

if phone growing into tablet size needs a special name, do we need new names when phone grows to laptop size (phoptop?) and when tablet grows to laptop size (tabtop?). Maybe eventually competing against desktop if at all possible.... no one made new name when laptop size varies all over the place, why should we do it for tablet and phone?
