I think many people didn't understand the screen issue... I have not any problem with the viewing angles in any sony smartphone! We know that Sony didn't have the best viewing angles on their devices so far. I had almost every phone and I should know it. I want explain why I don't like the screen of Z. The problem is that everything looking so grey. It looks like the screen is too bright, but this is not the problem. You see this "greyish lights" also when you turn it to the lowest brightness. And I know that the UI isn't more black... It looses too much colours when you don't look exact on it... My Xperia Arc, ION and whatever have also bad viewing angles, but not this problem with the colours! This is what I mean. I have seen now different screens of the Z, and I just want to know, how I can know where is which display inside... I want send my Z back and buy it again with the hope for "goodscreen". The Z feels really good in hands, it is really light, IMO it should be 160-170gramm for better premium feeling... But it's the sexiest ever!

I'm really having a hard time deciding !!
At first I thought of having Xperia Z... no questions here...
Just few days ago Sony had a press conference in dubai for the launch of Xperia Z in the region, and they said that Xperia Z will be available in March, while Xperia ZL will be available a little bit later ( late March or April ), and that Xperia Z will not have LTE, while the ZL will have this...
I said okay as in Bahrain we will not have LTE till mostly next year duo to complications with frequencies ( Department of Defense uses the same frequencies required by LTE ), so I thought no problem...
Until I woke up today I was shocked, my carrier (Batelco) announced in all of it's social network as well as newspaper that they're launching LTE from today !! just have a supported device and go to replace your SIM and you're ready to go !!
Now I have two options, to go for Z and loss LTE, or wait for ZL and have LTE but loses water resist + the beauty of Z !!
My third option is to buy Xperia Z LTE from outside, but I don't have cash ATM as I'll take the phone with contract !!
So there's only fourth option, having any expensive phone from my carrier, sell it and buy the phone from outside !!
I think I'll have the last option, thanks god we don't have locked phones here, it will be unlocked !!

Be careful. Xperia Z bought outside may not necessarily support the LTE bands your carrier is using. Check that out before you buy. |

I'm planning to import unlocked C6603 as well maybe Singapore or Hong Kong.
Management team in Thailand really lack of vision to fight and conquer, they bring 02 in.
I wish to see new blood and major change when April come this year, as they wasted many chances.

Just got a chance to use the device
Overall, its not as big as i thought, can can hold comfortably in the hand
The screen looks great, no Washed out when turning 100% Brightness, the viewing angles are not as bad as some people said, only washed out when viewing Extreme angles
The UI has Grey tone, this my be the reason
Finger Prints Magnet.... I will go with the Nano Coating as soon as i get the device by this weekend or next week
And the best thing about this device is the Power Button ) the placement and the material make me want to keep clicking on it I love that feeling
PS: The device I just used is from Singapore

Ok i just seen a working Z in Phones4U. My verdict is the screen is fine but something about the screen and the feel of it didn't wow me for some reason. It does for some reason feel like plastic not glass. I thought the XT felt nicer. Also,am sorry to say but playing with it in store it jerked and lagged a little. Not trolling or slagging Sony but seriously it lagged. Sorry Sony

Did you check the background app??
When i played with the device today, its absolute smooth, no lag at all...
I agree with you about the screen, cuz of the grey UI
but When i tried the album or videos, it looks stunning

Sony Mobile PH announced that Xperia Z would be officially available on their Xperia stores on the first week of April for PHP 32,490. Now that's a bummer, unless it's getting delayed because it will have the S600 instead of the S4 Pro and hopefully the better of the two screen displays (JDI or Sharp?). |

There will be no upgrade to S600 for the Z or the ZL. Sony got a lot of stock and the APQ8064 is still being produced until the middle of Q2. |
