No gapless playback that I'm aware of & never advertised as having it either.
Not an issue for me as I've never used gapless playback on my iPod either.
Oh well - I'll guess I'll get used to it. I suppose gapless is only really desirable if the type of music you listen doesn't have gaps! |

before the P1i you had to download tweakpeak to turn off transitions to speed up the phone. |

what does "transitions" do exactly?
I would assume changes the way the pages switch between each other when making a selection. The transition from one screen to the next. Nothing in the manual about it, but turning it off didn't make any visual difference for me, only sped it up.
That's exactly it. There are some swoopy effects which really won't be missed when you switch them off. Nowhere near as nice as the iPhone anyway so IMO it's better that they don't bother trying and come up with something that works properly sometime in the future.
It's like turning off the menu effects in MS Office.

Battery life for me seems to be pretty much the same as my p990 - about 24-48hours before needing recharging!
I'll mention this again because I feel its amazing - multi tasking - I can have tomtom plus messaging plus web plus walkman all open without any of them closing!

I guess at the very least it should last as long as my p1 does. How do you find using the touch screen compared to something like the p1? Does flush make it easier, better to interact? |

Yep... its still £350 simfree at CPW.
I picked it up yesterday...
very nice phone...
battery life is better than the p990i.... i'm thinking about getting a BST-34 for the phone to extend it even further.... |

Is that the battery that comes in the P1? Im not sure whether I should give up my P1 for the w960.
Hows the flush screen? Is it better than normal touch screens on SE's? |

i like the flush screen better than the regular touch screen, unless if hand writing recognition is a must, you might want to consider
btw, how many of W960 owners use screen protector? |

Yes the screen is easily scratchable. We've had one since Tuesday 8th January from Vodaphone Uk.
The Voda W960's are just software branded. No external branding and ours is also unlocked to all networks straight out of the box (Tried Orange, T-Mobile and O2 Sim's in it and all work fine)
Nice phone and slimmer than my P1 was but yes I would get a screen protector. Especially if you use the handwriting recognition.
Only thing I'm not keen about is the Stylus. Its sooo thin and feels very fragile compaired to my P1 stylus.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose |

It does come with a pouch and a spare stylus. I think the screens pretty much unscratchable with the plastic stylus. |
