I've noticed in 16:9 format there is "only" 8MP option. Is it due to some some oversampling or just the format crop?

Cheers,
Miki

If it is the same thing because Nokia has not adopted the measure of 2/3 ?

If a sensor commercially speaking 2/3 the call more attention than a sensor 1/1.5 !

blame the marketing for that, possibly another reason is because 2/3 is half of the 4/3 which is the format used for micro fourthirds cameras. it's alot easier to distinguish the difference between the two when using 2/3 than with 1/1.5"

I think things should be said as indeed they are !

And what Nokia says is that the image sensor is integrated into the 1020 1/1.5" and no 2/3" !

I conclude here, as is already shifting the focus of the topic !

P.S: At least you agree that the camera will Honami lower than 808 Pureview !

Could you refer me to the exact post where I said "Honami would be better than the 808 Pureview"

You just did right here, lol.
This is nonsense, you don't have to reply, just let it go

Kurtdean, it is possible, only if something is missed in the 1020 implementation, but it seems to be the case.
If it does become the case, not necessarilly a proud victory for Sony, but surely a shamefull defeat for Nokia.

Guys we know what the specs are and we know the camera is awesome lets just leave it at that, how about we talk about something that hasn't been talked about Randomuser mentioned before once that it will have a new software so yeah any rumors about that?

Sorry if I sound like nightwing but I think we've talked about hardware a lot and now its confirmed so not a rumor anymore and Sony nailed the hardware for a true flagship (call its first real flagship so yeah nailed it spot on) the next part is the software I hope they nail it. So any rumors on that anyone?

@Shotokan81

Yes you are right, i1 beating 1020 is not win for Sony but merely a shameful defeat of Nokia/WP. Hardware on the 1020 is no doubt much superior to i1.

What do you guys think about this?

What if the new lens/sensor combos can not only be mounted on a smartphone, but on a E and or A mount?
Then you can control it via the body controls via wifi initiated by nfc.

It makes perfect sense for Sony:
I have a iphone or a galaxy s4, and buy the sony accessory.
One day, i want a camera for more comfort, but do not want to lose the value of my acessory/pay twice for new lenses.
So I buy a A or E mount body because I can mount my camera on it.
Then i have got caught into the sony ecosystem without noticing.

Would make Perfect sense for Sony right?
And the reason why they make the accessory compatible with as many smartphones as possible.

I guess at first they want to see how it sells, but if they are ready to throw in aps-c sensors, i can't prevent myself from thinking they have something bigger in mind to redefine mobile imaging.
