Yeah i remember those. I actually had a 7650 aswell, bloody solid phone! As for funky designs though I think the K850 could well fall into a quirky esque category dont you think? So far everyone who has held one has mentioned at least once that it attracts fingerprints like a magnet.

I suggest that we must wait for the final release of the product to make a judgement!Few things can change! It's not wise to judge a pre-production unit guys..I'll have the device in my hands(the final version)as soon as it comes in Greece!About the 41 week of October! So,i'll make a little review!Cu!

Yeah im sure all K850 fans are hoping this aswell. But my question is why would Eldar make such a comment unless he had information otherwise?
People keep saying "SE wouldnt do this ect" but as someone pointed out look how they handled the P990 situation. It could have potentialy been one of the best phones that year but instead it became a horror story. All im saying is dont hold your breath and especially after SE trying to trick people with those fake sample pics it seems even more realistic that it wont be improved.

Well i donīt see it quite dark as that. The "german pictures affair" is probably one or a few peoples misstake. You donīt really think that SE as a company and their CEO:s would try to pull something like that?
And about the P990- that was then and now is now (see my earlier post) |

The k850i will have record sales due to its marketability

Not exactly what a phone afficianado is looking for. Different marketing strategy, is all... |

I do consider myself a "phone afficianado" and I will buy this phone. Even if the camera is marginally better than the K790, I'll be very happy with it. I have a DSLR for high quality shots, I need something small to take party pictures, and I have to have HSDPA. Currently I"m using an HTC TyTN in the form of a Cingular 8525 and I find it clunky at best, but it does get me on the web with VERY high speed and it does get me my corporate email so it serves a purpose. I'm just tired of the weight of it and can't wait to get my hands on the K850.
It's kind of sad - right now I'm using a brick of a phone like a mentioned so that I can travel world wide (quad-band + tri-band 3g) and I have purchased a Nikon s50c so that I can take party pictures. If only SE could have released this phone some 4 months earlier I would have saved myself a lot of money and bulk to carry
PS: I just re-read Eldar's review and comparison to the n95 and I can't figure out what crack people here are smoking for complaining about the K850's photo quality ESPECIALLY when comparing it the n95!? If you want to make every subject you photograph look like it's made out of shiny plastic - go for the n95 - no doubt you'll get the results you're looking for! I'm VERY pleased with 90% of the pictures taken with the k850 that I have seen so far. There are still some shots out there that worry me a bit, such as the ones that show some chromatic aberration but it's definitely not present in all shots.

Normally you would say that Nokias colour algorithm makes the pictures look too surreal and the colours too boosted but for soem reason all the K850 pics looks slightly washed out and lack colour. |

I too had a Nokia 7650, last Nokia phone I will ever own as it spent more time being sent away for repair then in my pocket.
7650 best use is as a paperweight as its useless as a phone / camera or anything else it is meant to be, awful phone! |

'You donīt really think that SE as a company and their CEO:s would try to pull something like that?'
You mean like the farcical announcement, then complete eradication of battery BST-34??
SE, to this day, deny it's conception/existance to the death; Google still finds ~15,000 directly-related web pages......and somewhere, I should have the offline page for it from the website......
Don't trust them as far as I could throw them, TBH......

Well i donīt think that the TOP bosses of SE decided- "Hey letīs put some pics taken with a real/another digital camera on this website to present something that looks good before the K850 is finished! And there is off course no chance that anyone will find out! No waaaay!"
I for one will buy one. And if it really sucks, that some here think, then i will simply return it. But i think it will be just fine, I donīt excpect a major improvement compared to the K800. Iīm satisfied with a slight improvement. Iīm tired of the camera in my N73 and i want a better one.
I spoke to SE-callcenter just now and they said that the blue K850 i released in week 41 and the green one is released week 45 at least in Sweden.
Hm i want the green one. Might buy the blue one instead...canīt wait. And the blue one has lesser black colored areas thus will get a little bit less visable fingerprints/smudges.

So why own their product if you're so bitter?

If it's me you're asking, I do like their products(although not all of them), and the OSs they use......
Doesn't mean I have to agree with their politics, strategies and plans though......

For those who are questioning the image quality of K850, you should know that the camera software is updated and enhanced DAILY at the moment. The focus is on the camera right now and getting rid of most bugs.
