Before they hype get out of control I think it is better to calm everybody down.
the specs for the new Xperia Tablet are fairly accurate but I was told that it will NOT release in 2013. |

They should worry!
Sony won't be the only one with such an idea, and in general image quality on quite every smartphone (even without interchangeable lense) is improving very much, what will be in a couple of years?
These could be hard times for camera manufacturers like Canon, Nikon, but also Sony.
I think that Sony should offer the possibility to mount the lenses on several types of body, including a phone but also a dslr-type for better comfort. Kind of a new mount if you will. Then with grip, flash viewfinder, vari angle, etc as options, yes photographers could buy into it, and this is additionally to the fact that you can mount the lens on the phone itself.
So sony could sell phones, bodies and the camera/sensor combos. I don't know if samsung makes their sensor themselves. The other player that could do it is fujifilm, but they do not have the phone capabilities...

Samsung doesn't make their own camera sensors, only for phones. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@ramu any info on the battery life of honami?
Are sony planning anything special or will it be a regular 3000mAh battery? |

I think Samsung ILC sensors are made by Aptina, who also developed the 24Mpix sensors for Nikon D3200/D7100
Am I the only one who thinks the color version on the leaked Honami+QX100 official image looked gorgeous?

^ Then Sony may have nailed it, something they are alone to be able to do: lens/sensor combo on phones.
The funny part is, are the cameras an accessory for the phone, or is the phone an accessory for the camera?
The more i think about it, the more I hope they will create an ecosystem of accessories with bodies and even bodies with a dslr shape where you can dock honami, extending the battery, like some smartphones dock in a tablet or PC.
Then I would re assess my statement that i will pass on the lens, and I guess a few guys here that would be completely broke!

I have an Xperia Z along with the Sony BTN200 NFC headphones and the audio quality is superb. My question is though will the S-Master amp in the Honami really make it sound that much better for an audiophile like myself and will it also work for the loudspeaker (the loudspeaker on the Z isnt the greatest)
1. Speakers will always sound bad, the amplifier used won't make any audible difference here.
2. For Bluetooth you won't notice any difference either. Sound is transmitted to the headphones digitally and is amplified by your headphones themselves.
The only thing that will improve with an S-Master amplifier (which I doubt will be in Honami) is the 3,5mm output.
You doubt about the camera lenses too |

if the final honami is 8.3mm with 3050mah is pretty impressive with ip55/58 with 1/2.3 sensor...just bezel is abit large...
hope the G Lens Construction is 12 elements in 9 groups ( 4 aspheric elements ) or 11 elements in 10 groups (including 5 aspheric elements) ...

I don't mind the bezel as long as it looks sexy lol. All great looking phones got big bezel like iphone, Xperia Z and htc one. Small bezel looks ugly for example like galaxy s4 and lg optimus g2 but Xperia ZL is the only exception |

with all due respect to everyone here, I honestly don't get the fuss over the bezel size, Bezel-less TV may look great, but on a smartphone? unless it's rectangular glass unibody design, it won't look that appealing to me at all. LG may pride themselves about their thin bezel milestone with the G2 but in my eyes it's Galaxy S4 that looked way more retarded.

kurtdean,
Human curvature design is Sony Ericsson's design theme
Samsung/LG use a different term
