@ Jojo,
Wow, nice pics, matey! Yup, that's a '03 model R1 alright.
He's spent a bit of money on it too I see; Yoshimura Tri-Oval pipe and Ohlins steering damper straddled between the front of the tank and handlebars.
A steering damper for a bike with such a phenomenal power-to-weight ratio sure will help to 'calm' the bike's front end when he's really twisting the throttle...
Good to see he's got an excellent brand of helmet there too; personally I'll only buy Shoei or Arai, by far the world's best 2 bike helmet manufacturers.
Thanks for uploading the pics, pal.

Ah, and he's got the same brand of aftermarket rear shock as what I've got on the TL1000S, ie. Ohlins.
Definitely the best make of superbike shock that money can buy. The distinctive yellow spring and gold nitrogen reservoir are the obvious clues.

@hobbs - Thanks matey. I think it will remain RED and BLACK (Yamaha R1) had it been colored in GREEN . . I guess that will now become a - Kawasaki
Yeah, I can easily have made it to the TOP 1 post-position had NOT my very SENSIBLE replies were DELETED forcefully in the past . . .
@gucci - You are right there mate about that Yamaha R1 donned in: Black/Grey and Yellow. As I've discussed that with my old-friend (classmate) he told me that those model were LIMITED as it was the 10th or 15th YEAR anniversary issue . . . NOT totally sure here I guess our RESIDENT Big Bike enthusiast-SA member might give a liitle LIGHT on this one .. . right - ama
