TDMA is more widespread dito compared to GSM (better coverage)..
Kung gusto mo ng GPRS then VoiceStream (AKA T-Mobile) is probably the best provider. Sa california, they have a joint-agreement with Cingular (as in they use the cingular network).
Depends kung sino ang mas mura (coverage is the same due to the shared network) - Cingular is changing their rates yet again in the next few weeks..
VoiceStream sells 5MB GPRS bandwidth for 19$..
As for prepaid, VoiceStream (EasySpeak) and Cingular both offer it (I'm not sure about GPRS prepaid though)..
In regards to AT&T <-- they have better GSM coverage in the Los Angeles area compared to cingular.

For those interested with the BT options for the Sony- Ericsson phones and Pocket PCs, the Ambicom BT CF card is a cheap option. So if you already own a Pocket PC like the Jornada 525, 548, 568, Cassiopeia E-115, 125, 200, then this is a more affordable choice for you. The 3970 iPAQ has been sighted in Megamall too. Price... no idea yet. BTW, anyone selling a cheap T39?

I saw a one & only t68i (among the t68ie's & mc's) in GH last night. Bnew daw but when i checked the joystick count it was already at 66k+. Biglang binaba ang presyo but the best part was looking at the puzzled look on his face as i left-parang he was wondering how i found out. Hehe
