Cant understand why everyone is so excited about this? It will be just like carrying an extra camera with you all the time except the camera has no screen |

If Sony prices these just right, they will have a major winner on their hands. Can't wait for honami announcement, perhaps this leak will make Sony fast track some press photos or more teasers.
@motvikt
While I agree it may be like an extra camera but, carrying around my nex sometimes is a chore and I'd just rather have my phone and a great prime lens to go with it and great quality sensor and this is definitely great. The low light performance will be insanely good.

LOL! One day and the site flourish! leaks over leaks... awesome:D
It's excatly as I figured it! that accessory will be awesome! I will SURELY buy an Honami (which judging prom the firtst shot willl have great photo even on its own) and then after some time the add-on lens, the bigger one! I'm already loving this device
YAY FOR THE CONFIRMED 3,5 jack open! For me it's a big selling point!
FROM alpha rumors
"Sony will soon launch two “lens-cameras”:
1) One is the “Lens-camera” with RX100MII sensor and Zeiss lens ($600 here on Amazon). On the pictures it is the bigger lens. As you know the RX100 is the most praised high end compact camera and features a large 1 inch sensor which is the same used by the Nikon 1 system. Now you can have that kind of Image Quality on your iPhone or Android Smartphone!
2) The second model will feature a 10xzoom lens with 1/2,3 inch 18 megapixel CMOS sensor (the image with the f/3,3-5.9 lens). It’s basically the same sensor and lens of the Sony WX150 ($400 on Amazon)."
Which price will you excpect for them?...
For me they will be like the bigger 400-450 $ and the smaller 200-250$... it eould be a good price poitn I think...

@motvikt, agree, I don't get what's that fuss about, the lens is almost the size of normal compact camera, and it doesn't have flash, and relies on additional device. They'd better put 808 cam to their phones with xenon flash, now that's worth the trouble. |

So they will be released along with the Honami at launch, wonder what other snap-on lenses we will see and how much they will cost?
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

This is exactly what I have been trying to say as well in previous posts! unless these lens attachments are MUCH cheaper why would you get that over the RX100 MK2 when that has Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities already!
Those lenses don't look like something you are going to carry in your pocket with you all the time! (the whole reason why camera phones are so popular because you always have them)

Just to clarify, from next year onwards there will only be one flagship per year right?? When will flagships be released then?? I doubt it will be as early as MWC.....am I right in thinking from 2014 it will be released around the same time as Honami will be released, that is at IFA??
Cant wait for 4th of Sept announcement!!!WIll there be a livestream or something to follow the event?? |

if you cant see it, dont buy it.. but this is a market maker. it IS like carrying an extra camera with you, but now its a remote cam that you can probably place anywhere and detach it from the viewfinder. its 1/2 less gadget to carry, consolidating a portion of the camera in a smartphone, any smartphone. space is an issue, but tbh id rather have a decent 1" sensor and optizoom than a bulky phone (1020) merely stating that i HAVE to always take out a bulky phone where i can choose to keep the altlens until i need it. i can also continue to use my phone if i choose leaving the cam to charge or near -wildlife- (insert random reason)... but thats just my preference. who knows how limited this will be but BT4 has a decent range.

+1 I absolutely prefer a slim and sexy phone and a lens camera in my bag than a bulky phone... would never ever buy something like the S4 Zoom, ugliest thing on earth iMHO
A sexy Honami plus a detachable camera with the quality of a RX100 MII... priceless!! |

now that the froth has subsided... how fast can you pair and shoot? manual focusing or ssm (G lens, so it could be) |

I also think the accessory lenses is a great idea, it keeps the phone slim and beautiful and when on occasion you need to take 'better' photos, you can simply attach the lense. Obviously you wont be carrying it around all the time as from the leaked honami photos it seems that photos are pretty decent and will be sufficient for everyday random snaps. When say you go on a trip or vacation and know you will have to take lots of photos, then you simply take the lense with you. ONLY problem I can see is pricing.......hopefully it will be available at a decent price |

I hope Sony will do the pricing right this time, just like the PS4
They need to price these 2 lenses lower than the RX100 (much lower) otherwise it might not work
But if they price them too low, they might cannibalize the RX100 Camera as well

Guys what is around the white Xperia on the right??? is it just a casual case or could it be something like a special case used for the lens camera? |

^Maybe a new case/add on for XZ with the magnetic/metal ring at the back to attach those Lens Cameras
I can see the Sony logo on that case
So for Universal Usage===>> Use this add on
For XZ =>>> use the case
Edit: That case might also provide Camera Button for the XZ as well??
