Nice mod! You are right about needing the generic firmware version R1GA028, to apply patches and elfs

Hi guys, just wanted to ask about the build quality of the c901. I am known to drop my phone around a fair bit and wanted to find out how it holds up? I am aware it is plastic, but is it anything like the w810? (which is built like a tank) I'm just looking for something that is going to survive the hard use. Ive narrowed it down to the c901 and w995, build quality wise which is better? despite the metal body of the w995 I have read about the cheap build quality (stand breaking, battery cover creaking, logos fading off)
Any advice is appreciated. |

based on my experience
build is good if dropped the phone so many times but the casing stills in good condition not shaky
i have this for almost a year already but no logos or letters fading
its a candy bar design so its very compact and very solid when your holding it..
its a bit heavy but i thinks its good so i wont forget that im holding sumthing...
camera is superb... xD no one can stop me taking shots at night!
a nice scratch proof skin until now no scratch.. i hope they will also invent a scratch
proof casing... thats it... just ask more if u wnna know more.. battery i can say its fair enough it depends on the user
.. look at my previous post at page 101 ive covered my c901 with a fur! bwahahaha...
i've forgot this phone will be too perfect if it had a wifi...
but who needs that when it has hspda thou it cost a bit depending on your retailer

I have dropped the phone about 20 times, about 5 times very badly and it always survives, but I drop it becuase its really heavy (much heavier than K750) and the plastic its made out of doesn't provide any grip so it slips out your hand easily. I am jealous of macmigz's skin
Go for W995, you will like the build quality more even though camera isn't as good.

Thanks for that mrriley & macmigz, you have given me more confidence in purchasing a c901, sounds solid enough and while the w995 might be stronger, don't think its worth the price difference considering the higher megapixel camera cannot match it |

Yeah maybe, i just cant decide if i want an Elm or C901, or maybe Nokia 6700

Hallo there. Dont go for the 6700c. I have both.C901 and 6700.In daylight they equals each other foto wise. But in dark its a big diffrence in favor for c901.And the e-mail support is better in c901.6700 do have gps,but a very simpel one.And the battery time you get from c901 is tvice the time 6700 deliver. And there is no torch funktion in the Nokia.

That's why i got the C901 instead of the W995, its about £150 cheaper
afaik, the Elm is only good in daylight, you get weird lines across photos in low light, but I haven't used the phone so I'm just judging from what I've read here.
Competitors to C901 IMO are:
Motorola Motozine ZN5
C905
Elm
Nokia 6700
Nokia 82
Nokia 86

yeah i've also choose c901 because of that... it think a +3 megepixel on a walkman phone without xenon against a 5mp cybershot phone is way to overpriced.. but i want w995 wifi haha... but after purchasing c901 i think i dont need a wifi it would be troublesome finding a hotspot and i dont usually use my phone as a web browser..

I need some help with patching.
I'm thinking of making my phone brown using SE King or whatever it's called. The program is in chinese...
After that, what do I do?
Can someone step-by-step tell me exactly what to do to use radio without headset patch? Where to put it and so on...
I would also like to have LP-disc in mediaplayer and maybe some more.

I am trying to get some patches for my phone as you seen in my last post and I've converted my phone to brown and extracted the phone_app.cxc file. Now I want to patch and CXC Patcher says that I have to locate .vpk files but all patches I find are written as text:
;C901 SW-R1GA028
;Radio without handsets
;(c) SiNgle
;(p) Joker XT
;pAtChFiLe=/boot/phone_app.cxc
14D964EC: 01D1 01E0
For example, how do I patch???
