Apparently the K850 can't even compete with anything N95 has to offer including photo quality (though maybe K850 might just win on build quality), so I'd say it's an act of desperation.

Really? I'd say that both sucks, unless you want something less than a point-and-shoot. It amazes me how people praise the N95 as a camera and then show scaled down samples which hide all that CMOS noise and lack of detail due to poorly implemented noise reduction.

Where the N95 really shines is on video recording. We will have to wait for the K850i successor for similar capability from a Sony Ericsson.

Going by samples ive seen so far even the G600 outperforms the K850. Quite sad really. Imaging was the only thing really going for the K850 and what everyone expected it to excel at yet it looks like it will even be trounced by Samsung this year. I can only think that it will become even harder for SE with the N82 round the corner.

But do you really think that SE would release something that is that bad, that doesn't follow the footsteps of K800? It would be a disaster for SE if their flagship phone would turn out to be that bad...somehow i donīt think SE would release such a bad phone.

if they just released the phone we wouldnt have all these problems. The consumer has had far too long to talk about this product. I think its ridiculous they have spent this long making the phone and ppl are still not happy, i understand that not everyone will ever be happy but ppl are making a lot of complaints. Even eldars review a while back kinda put me off getting it.

I just think for the time it has took maybe we should have a better product

Uhmm...you probably forgot P990i is actually an SE product and it was a disaster. Don't get me wrong, I love my P990i, but it was a total wreck when it was released and it has shunned people from SE smartphones like it was a plague. It's pretty decent now but unfortunately the damage is done. I'm seeing a pattern here. Good luck SE, you're gonna need it especially with the crappy Nokia-esque shell they've managed to emulate.

Nokia-esque shell= adventurous + impracticle (remember the very laughable 7610 & 3650?). The dpad encircling the 2 square keys on a reflective surface which will get all greasy screams bad design to me

I suggest that we must wait for the final release of the product to make a judgement!Few things can change! It's not wise to judge a pre-production unit guys..I'll have the device in my hands(the final version)as soon as it comes in Greece!About the 41 week of October! So,i'll make a little review!Cu!

Yes well one can only hope that SE donīt make the same blunder as they did with the P900. They should have learned something from that experience and take necessary measurements.

Anyhow, i will buy the K850 and if it totaly sucks i will return it. Iīll give SE the benefit of the doubt.
