hi why is it that SE is not coming with any release date.... they had some problems with the stability of the operating system but i also read that they have nearly ovecome that..
then it was the story that they wanted the software manufatures to produce more softwares....
why is this delay....i am sure some one from SE must be reading these and must be able to answer |

Ok, to stop your nonsense, PDAJAH (I assume it is our Jah in esato and a sincere thanks to you ) has so kindly join up bengalboy's forum "on your behalf" and posted this query to Bengalboy. Here's what Bengalboy has to say about this "debate".
"Yes, the P990i supports the use of WiFi during a call. You can talk on the phone and check email or surf the internet while connected to a WiFi Network.
So, I hope you were able to win some money on that argument!!! "
Enough said, cos both Michal and Bengalboy has responded to your FAMOUS claim that "WiFi is only turned on FLIGHT mode which means GSM/3G off". And oh, I belive there is no need for me to post the link to bengalboy's forum, since you keep "quoting" him all these while and I am absolutely sure that you know how to find your way there to view his above reply |

Yes I am PDAJAH and I did ask BB the question - but not been near a computer until now. Thanks for the update and great to finally get some clarity. |

Surely it's nice that WiFi works on the P990 as it should...
Nevertheless, SE has a strange attitude to disable important features, and to lock lots of useful system functions away from developers. Major examples are fax and call recording, features supported by Symbian, but disabled in all SE smartphones, including the coming ones.
Not to mention the new security features that will prevent us from freely deciding what we install. Well, this latter "feature" is common for all new Symbian phones... |

To the poor guy aaaadddddnnnnhhhhhkkkkkk11111 as guy has mouth on butt:
Up to today ,
- No body see n can use Wifi on gsm/3G turned on mode.
- All the review n pic showed proved it
- Anything on web or anywhere be last week still show Wifi not work on GSM/3G mode
- And oh, I belive there is no need for me to post the link to bengalboy's sorry to say he made mis-leading statement while and I am absolutely sure that you know how to find your way there to view his above reply

Posts: 319 Posted: 2006-05-18 12:49 OMG, I can't believe someone can "read between the lines" to the fact that he can turn SE's smart way of allowing WiFi to be turned ON EVEN on FLIGHT MODE to become SE's WiFi ONLY ALLOWED TO BE TURNED ON WHEN 3G/GSM IS OFF...
@ jjjimmy, you'd better go for proper English lessons
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear eugene_nyc:
B4 May23, no any doc /reviews/ pics/ Web in ENGLISH said / showed / proved/ tested Wifi works with 3G/GSM..
Even to today , we r just imgining , rite?
My point is b4 May 23, we just see "P990 work only 3G/GSM turned off" based on all kinds info
adnhk1 try to confuse ppl to "jjjimmy said P990 wifi just work in flt mode even in future" to cover his gas from butt mouth
If i said my english lesson is taken at NYC, what u think ? |

sorry that was posted at may 18
I just cusrious where he read or listen even from SE formally "P990 wifi to work with 3G/GSM turned on " to support his not funny statement.
all kind review by "mobile review" , "Bengalboy" done wifi under GSM/3G off , no matter wording or pics.
That's why I'm interested any super ENGLISH lesson at Hong Kong can conduct any conculsion as he made?
it's not personal attack:

"Bullsh*t"... And yes, Michal has a pre-production P990i on his hands as we speak!
Just send the "Bullsh*t" to where it from n should be
Cos my ENGLISH LESSON never teach "Buulsh*t", so intersting to learn if HK may do in this way? |

' jjjimmy, you dumb@$$, the one picture you keep refferring to to make your point (from BB's review) show's "no network present" - it's not showing us that WIFI can't be used unless in "flight-mode!!!" <sighs!>
' Okay. That's my last contribution to this idiocy... I'm turning my internal "ignore" on - especially since I can't even make out more than about 10% of what the heck jjjimmy's posts mean! ARGH!

to all : i had a p990 proto a few days, and you CAN use wi-fi in flight mode (very good move for SE) and when the phone is on. I was browsing net with opera and gprs (no 3g for now for my network) and same time i was connected to my home hotspot. you can transfer data flow from gprs 3g to hotspots anytime you want, without entering flight mode. So, i hope you`ll stop this uselless discussion.
P.S - i`ll have in 4 days a retail p990 and i`ll post a good review with pics.

I have seen the o2 roadmap of phones and expected release dates. The p990 is marked for release in the 2nd week of July.

Is it stable or do you have many errors? So you have an retail version, it doesn´t say prototyp on the back then?
Cheers |

the last one was prototype on the back, this one i dont know until i`ll have it, is sealed in box. i have some connections with a gsm network and these phones are for tests, they say are hardware retail version ( not prototype) and latest firmware available. very hard to get one...
they say the software is very stable
