@ J-Man,
Photo-finish-exit...?
Well it didn't bug me that I could've possibly skipped National Service; I learnt a lot about myself and others, what one's true limits are, physically and mentally etc. For sure, the first 6 months were really tough, as after the initial 'basics' (boot camp) I went on to complete the officer's course, which wasn't easy to say the least...
Once I somehow passed the 6-month course and got my rank, the last 6 months were really great.
I'll see (later today) if I can dig out a pic or two of my platoon back then, and see if you can spot me amongst the other soldiers. .

BTW, I go back to work on Monday 7th January.

Anywayz, I've now finished in the study and it's time to shut down the PC now.
Have a great 'Sundae', mate. G'night.

Back to cellphone stuff, the (overpriced IMHO) W910 is now selling for £199.95 (approx R2800) here.

Would rather buy the T650i for the same money, but that's of course just my personal taste.

@ JC,
We'll probably just bring in the new year at our place. Not exactly mind-blowing, but I'll look at it as some quality time with the mrs.
Traditionally there's a massive party in London's Trafalgar Square, but wading through hordes of drunken revellers while they bump n' grind to anything from Abba (which the Poms can never seems to get enough of) to rave music (sorry Hobbster)ain't my thang.

@da wanqsta: The only reason I'm following Everton is because Steven Pienaar is on loan there for the season. Perhaps also because I've been a great admirer of David Moyes and the work he's done with his team despite the lack of serious clout in the transfer market...Tim Cahill is an exceptional player that probably would not have played as many games at a bigger team.

Any opinions on the M610 which is basically an updated M600...still without cameras but bigger flash memory.

Have to give kudos to the good folks at HiFi Corp for great service...Last night after arriving home, I plugged in my newly-acquired external HD which I had bought in Kimberley...transferred some movies, as I got up I accidently kicked the box...within a minute it was dead. Took it back to HiFi Corp in Rondebosch and they promptly replaced it without any hassle. My only gripe is that the HD should've come with a warning to indicated that it was very sensitive.

blerrie hell man, it's boiling here!! Right now all of us are lying on the front stoep watching the lightning play across the sky. With any luck it'll rain tonight.

Tomorrow evening we're following family tradition and going to the midnight mass, after which we gather around the fireplace sipping gluhwein after our ski run while one of the group will start singing a ballad... Wait, no... That's a scene from the video of Wham's Last Christmas
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.

@ da brixsta,

LOL, partying like it's 1999... sigh I used to have a good few Prince tracks back in the day..

Yeah, Steven Pienaar's certainly delivering the goods for Everton; methinks the only blemish of note, and Moyes et al were the first to describe it as 'a moment of madness', was that dreaded foul he made while playing against ManUre just before Christmas, which led to ManUre scoring the winning goal.
Oh well, he's human after all, and kaka happens to the best of us.

@ Kryptik,
Isn't watching 'Dinner For One' (surely?) included in the traditional New Year's Eve rituals, while sipping on aforementioned gluhwein?
