I'm not sure about 1.5, but 1.51 was released solely to stop people writing these apps, as the blurb on the update says something about updating security, though I'm sure, given some time we'll start to see more emulators coming out for 1.5/1.51, I know the other day, there was a supposed Snes emulator for 1.5, but it wasn't workable.
My guess is that Sony are going to wait for a while, then release the firmware upgrade that will have internet browser they have promised ( not just wipeout pure ) and then they'll bundle along more security patches with that to prevent emulation.

It's just homebrew but it's pretty good. Better than Tetris.
Here's a pic:

yeh but dont forget it takes a lot more processing power emulating a machine than the machine may need originally... i mean take a look at the number of ps2 and xbox emulators... hardly any (correct me if i wrong!) coz of the amount of processin power they take... so dont expect a PS1,PS2 or anything vaguely powerful on the psp yet! not until the full power is unlocked! |

Don't expect them ever, it's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. Even a ps1 is soooo far fetched. Puyo pop is a colour bubble matching game, bit like tetris, there's a mophun clone named evac.

i think its really farfetched aswell, i dont really believe my friend either, i dont think psp power will be unlocked because the psp may overheat

Don't forget just how powerful the PSP is. Just look at it's games

yeah and also, if the emu can force the games to run at a lower res, it will require less power but the games may look awkward because of the psp screen, the pixel ratio is 16 to 9 but the physical size ratio is 4 to 3 which means psp screen pixels are slightly taller than the width which makes them slightly rectangular

The psp is between the ps1 and ps2 spec wise, you will never see a ps2 or gamecube game running on it. Forgot the exact number, but a system has to be so many times more powerful than the machine it emulates to make it possible. It's just not. That's funnier than the guy in this topic who claimed his mates uncle had a ps3 3 months ago. Btw, how wel do snes mode7 games run on the psp emulator(mario kart, f zero, starfox etc)?
