I am very disappointed in a few things:
- there no sms signal choice in profiles
- you can't lock a phone that no one can see your sms, pics, etc.
- alarm singal is very loud - no option to reduce sound volume except to make mp3 little less louder than average, but still, radio is very loud
- a back cover plastic is very squeaky

Anyone know if Davinci firmware resolve any of these things?

Thanx

Try Quicktime, I believe that plays 3gp files

Hi everybody,

Use Quicktime v6.5 or later for playing 3GPP or MP4 movies.

Hope this help.

No sms signal choice - Is it that much effort just to change it in the sounds and alerts settings?

Alarm signal very loud - Did you try the volume buttons? Its worked for me

and my back cover is fine

I started a thread then realised I should have put it here!

So here it is:

You can view word and excel documents on the K750!!!

Simply save the document "as a webpage" (html) then send to the phone. This is saved in "saved web pages" on the K750, and is viewed by the built in browser.

Excel documents must be single sheet only before saving as html, otherwise it complains it "cannot view frames".

If there are pictures in the document, they will be dropped, but all the html content comes across fine (tables, cell colours etc)

Oh yeah, the phone status. I forgot about that, I remember my t68 did that, I'll add that in the heading thread, thanks. Btw, you just press the vol button, no nered to press down, at least not on mine. Also other useful info it tells you is the date, your mobile nubmer (if you've filled it in), and the free memory.

i have also learnt that any .txt file too can be viewed on the k750..

Just send ANY .txt file to the phone.. save it to the 'other' folder.. and then view it.. it gets opened as a webpage.. perfectly..
I have sent a massive 40 Mb text file to the phone and it works a charm.. i guess a book reader isn't so necessary...

yeah, but you can't bookmark a particular page. With bookreader you can go to any page or any bookmark with a few keystrokes. With a text file you need to hold the scroll down for ages to find your place.

Yup... I know... i just send a big text file for testing whether it can manage that size... I do have a book reader... but i was pleasantly surprised that k750 could open .txt file directly too without need for conversion... didn't expect that...

yeah, I was impressed with that to. Very handy. Mind you I also was pretty chuffed at being able to save some of my excel and word docs as HTML, very nice.

On the text front, I haven't been abvle to get Arez's trick to work?

Arez mate, when I try to send the text file as an mms, the option is greyed out? Can you use that trick on ur K750? If it's a branding issue I'm gonna flip out..

which trick of Arez?

As for sending a text file via mms, even in my phone the option is greyed out.. and mine is unbranded...

Did arez mention it's possible?

yeah, in the K700 you can send the txt file in the others folder as an mms. You can then edit the mms before sending and save in drafts (you don't need to actualy send it). The text file in the others folder is changed when the edited mms is saved in the drafts folder, so you can actually edit the text file on the phone.

I can't getthis happening in the K750.

I think I have all the major tips and tricks on the front of the thread now, so I'm going to disable my email notification of new posts. If there's anything important you think I've missed, please contact me by email or icq etc...

Thanks
